McNick & EF Tours
Art History | CCP | Option
College Credit Plus (CCP)- Cincinnati State
Options: You can take the ART HISTORY class for CCP or reg. McNick credit. We cover the art, architecture, and culture of the country we are visiting.
This pre-trip Art History class is offered in the Spring Semester and ends just before we take off. The course will help the students enrich their experiences as they will be applying what they have learned, while they are experiencing many of the richest cultural sites in the world.
Apply to the Ohio Department of Education for free college credits
Or skip the paperwork and pay Cincinnati State Floor Rate of approximately $144.00 for the 3 credits
*note you can apply for more than the 3 credits and take more college classes, some students are taking a course each semester, it is an amazing deal to get college credit for free!
The Adventure = What & Where
Day 1: Travel
- Fly overnight to South Korea.
Day 2: Seoul
- Arrive in Seoul and meet your Tour Director.
Day 3: Seoul | Busan
- Visit HiKR Ground for Korean media art and culture.
- Travel to Busan via bullet train.
- Visit Gamcheon Culture Village and Haeundae Beach.
- Explore Dongbaekseom Island and Nurimaru APEC House.
Day 4: Busan
- Visit Haedong Yonggungsa Temple.
- Tour the UN Memorial Cemetery and Peace Memorial Museum.
- Stroll through Taejongdae Park.
- Enjoy a cable car ride over Songdo Beach.
Day 5: Busan | Seoul
- Return to Seoul by bullet train.
- Visit the Odusan Unification Observatory.
- Free time or Taekwondo class.
- Walking tour of Yeouido Han River.
Day 6: Seoul
- Sightseeing: Blue House, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village.
- Visit Insa-dong, Museum Kimchikan, and N Seoul Tower.
Day 7: Seoul | Osaka | Kyoto
- Fly to Osaka, then travel to Kyoto.
- Guided tour of Nara: Todaiji Temple and Daibutsu.
- Visit Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine.
Day 8: Kyoto
- Expert-led tour of Kyoto.
- Visit NijĹŤ Castle, former Tokugawa shogunate residence.
- Explore the Golden Pavilion.
- Learn kimono-making techniques at Nishijin Textile Center.
- Tour Arashiyama and its famous bamboo forest.
Day 9: Kyoto | Tokyo
- Travel to Tokyo via bullet train.
- Expert-led tour of Tokyo: Imperial Palace Plaza, Harajuku, and Meiji Shrine.
- Visit Asakusa Kannon Temple, surrounded by the city’s vibrant mix of tradition and modernity.
Day 10: Tokyo | Fuji-Hakone-Izu Region
- Tour Mount Fuji with your guide.
- Visit Lake Saiko and Iyashi no Sato Nenba village.
- Explore Fugaku Fuketsu wind cave and Narusawa Hyoketsu ice cave.
Day 11: Depart for home
*Note this is a custom trip and I have added: Lunch in Osaka on Donbori Street, a Tea Ceremony in Kyoto, going to TeamLabs, and Karaoke in Tokyo!

CLERK OF COURTS PASSPORT EVENT
· Your child must be present at the event to apply. Complete the passport application US Department of State Form DS-11. A fillable PDF is available on the internet (travel.state.gov) or use black ink.
a. Both parents should attend and bring their driver’s licenses or state IDs.
b. Only one (1) parent needs to be present if the child is 16 and up.
c. Bring a certified copy of the child’s Birth Certificate.
d. If renewing a passport, please bring the previous passport.
· If only one parent is able to attend, please note:
a. The parent who is not attending can complete US Department of State Form DS-3053 which
is a “Statement of Consent.” This form states that the absent parent is giving permission for the child to get a passport. Form DS-3053 must be notarized. Submit copies of the front and back of the missing parent’s ID.
b. If a parent is unreachable, please complete US Department of State Form DS-5525 which is a “Statement of Exigent/Special Family Circumstances.” This form asks how you have attempted to contact the missing parent.
c. If a parent is deceased, a certified copy of the death certificate is necessary. If you have been awarded sole legal custody of the child, please bring a copy of the certified court documents.
d. If the missing parent is not on the birth certificate, no additional forms are necessary.
· There is a passport photo fee of $15.00 or please bring an appropriate passport photo. The Clerk’s office will supply a camera and printer for the passport event. There is an execution fee of $35.00. Please bring cash, check, or money order made payable to “Clerk of Courts” for these fees which can be combined for one payment of $50.00. We will not be able to make change, so if paying by cash, please bring the exact amount.
· There is a passport fee of $100.00 (for ages 15 and under) and $130.00 (for ages sixteen and up). This should be a separate check or money order made payable to “US Department of State.” No cash, please.
· The US Department of State will return your documents along with the passport. These will be in separate mailings. As of August 1, 2024, the turnaround time for standard processing is 6-8 weeks and 2-3 weeks for expedited service.
