Mother's Day blessings everyone!
"The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother ~ Theodore Hesburgh
Motherhood is a great honor and privilege, yet it is also synonymous with servanthood. Every day women are called upon to selflessly meet the needs of their families. Whether they are awake at night nursing a baby, spending their time and money on less-than-grateful teenagers, or preparing meals, moms continuously put others before themselves.
Today, Sunday May 13th, we honour all mothers and women who fill the role of mother in our lives. They are the gentle guides, who through their love, help us to experience God's love in our lives. This special day has been celebrated since at least the 17th Century on the Fourth Sunday of Lent which was originally known in England as "Mothering Sunday".
It was a day when mothers were honoured. Servants who worked and normally resided in the homes of the wealthy were given the day off and encouraged to return to their homes and spend time with their mothers. A tradition arose involving the baking of special type of fruit cake, known as Simnel Cake, which would be shared both at home and at various gatherings. Today families have wonderful traditions of breakfast in bed, picnics and other special ways to celebrate Mom. Most importantly we take the time to let our mothers know how much we appreciate them.
Our Church has always honoured mothers and in particular Mary who was inspirational in her selfless love and devotion to her son Jesus Christ. It seems that it is this selfless love that we could attribute to mothers in general.
May God continue to bless our mothers.

Transportation Survey
Alberta Education would like to hear the views of Alberta families on student transportation and the transportation eligibility criteria. To do so, they are conducting an online survey that will close on June 15, 2018. These responses will help the government determine if changes are needed to the student transportation system, and if so, what changes to make.
To share your thoughts and priorities on the student transportation criteria, please fill out the online survey.
