I Need To See The Nurse!!!
More and more I have been finding that students are not coming straight to me from when they get passes from their teachers. Just today, we found out a student took 10 minutes to get to my office from when they left the classroom. In order to assure safety of our students and to be able to account for students as well, it is recommended that you send students with a pass that includes the date, time you sent them, initial, and where they are going. Many of you already do this, and I thank you!
Vision Screening-8th Graders-October 8th
Tuesday October 8th, the 8th grade student's will walk over to the elementary for vision screening done by the Lion's Club. Those teachers that will be affected by this, please watch your emails for more information. All 8th graders must get vision screen regardless of them wearing glasses or not. If they wear glasses; however forgot them at home, they will need to make up their vision screening with me. Approximate time that they will be released is 9:45am and will need to go over with their teachers. Please note that the 9:45am time is approximate and it could be a little sooner or later, depending on how quick the elementary group is before them. If you are walking your students over and have the chance to interact with a Lion's Club member, please thank them for their time.
Flu Season is on it's way!
I am a huge believer in the flu vaccine. I know some of you may choose not to receive it, and the purpose of this blurb is not to persuade you otherwise, just a friendly reminder that if you plan on getting one...right now would be a good time to get appointments scheduled with your doctors/ health clinics. The Fountain County Health department located near Attica High School does offer these free of charge to Fountain County Residents. Appointment is required.
Athletic Trainer Availability
Our new Athletic Trainer is Jordan West. Jordan gets to the school every day at about 2:15pm. In order to allow Jordan time to get organized and set up for the evening sports, he asks that you do not allow students to go see him until 2:45pm or after. Jordan is doing a great job, and I have heard much positive feedback from both parents and students. Keep it up Jordan, and we thank you very much!
Kindness Counts Winner-September
Our Kindness Counts winner for September is Kendal Rahm, I witnessed Kendal numerous times this month, from afar, doing for others. She helped out a student with a wardrobe malfunction, as well as helped out a student in a very stressful situation. In both cases Kendal could have easily went about her day and not stopped to help, but she took that extra step to help others. Thanks Kendal and Keep it up!
Have any student nominations for October? Let me know.
