This past week our SSC/SGT reviewed our Comprehensive School Site Safety Plan. Part of the plan includes looking at Crime Incidents over the last six months within a 1/2 mile radius of the school site. Crime has significantly gone down in our area and we have included the attachment below so that you can compare. We utilize the Crime Mapping website to collect the data if you are interested. The Comprehensive School Site Safety Plan will be added to our web page once finalized.

This Thursday, October 3rd will be an extra minimum day. Please make arrangements to pick up your child at 11:40/11:50 am.

Also, there will be no school on Friday, October 4th. We hope everyone enjoys the extended weekend!

This week we expanded our music offerings by partnering with Villa Musica to offer their Link Up program to our 3rd grade. Villa Musica provides a teaching artists once per week, for 45-minutes in each of our third grade classrooms. They also provide students with recorders as they begin their journey of reading music and playing a musical instrument. At the end of the program, students will have an opportunity to come together with other schools and perform live with the La Jolla Symphony!

Fall Festival planning has already started and we’re brewing up a fang-tastic event and need fearless volunteers to help make it a night of frightful fun! Here’s how you can join the Jones Elementary Fall Festival.

Our Parent Teacher Association works with Jones Elementary to provide programs and support to benefit the students, their families, teachers, school administration and the community. Run entirely by volunteers, the PTA raises money to support enrichment programs, program instructors, educational assemblies and field trips, family events, and special classroom supplies.
