Principal's Post
We’ve had another great week in Raider Nation! I hope this message finds you well. After finishing Quarter 1 on a positive note, I am excited to share that our students have demonstrated incredible hard work and dedication. I was especially proud of how well-behaved the students were during the Kevin Atlas presentation yesterday.
Next week is Red Ribbon Week, and students will be allowed to dress down on the designated days to promote healthy choices. Additionally, picture day is October 31st, so students can dress up for that occasion.
Your support is vital to your child’s ongoing success. Education is a collaborative effort between home and school. While our teachers are here to guide and support, we truly cannot do it all alone. Here are some ways you can help:
- Study Together: Engage in conversations about what your child is learning. This collaboration can deepen their understanding and make learning more enjoyable.
- Check Grades Regularly: Stay informed about your child’s progress by checking Canvas and PowerSchool regularly. This helps identify areas where they may need additional support.
- Homework Support: Encourage your child to practice classwork, even if there is no assigned homework. If they’re struggling, consider offering assistance or helping them find resources.
- Address Missing Work: If your child has any missing assignments, help them prioritize getting those completed. We don’t want students to feel punished when they have to attend Lunch and Learn to complete missing work; instead, it should be seen as an opportunity for growth.
- Utilize Test Retakes: Remember, our district policy allows for test retakes, with the possibility of scoring up to a 75. Encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity if they wish to improve their scores.
Together, we can create a supportive learning environment that fosters growth and achievement. Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education!
