Stewart Boosters Meeting - 4/14 @ 5:15 - Our Stewart Boosters will be meeting on Monday, April 14th at 5:00pm in the Stewart Library. Any interested parents are welcome to join!
Early Dismissal - 4/17 @ 1:20 - NO PRE-K - We will dismiss at 1:20 on Thursday, April 17th with NO PRESCHOOL CLASSES!
NO SCHOOL - 4/18 & 4/21
Washington FFA Chapter - Animal Day - 4/23 - Washington FFA Students will be coming to Stewart on Wednesday, 23rd. FFA members will be stationed at their animals with posters full of fun facts for the students!
Stewart Boosters Walk-A-Thon - 4/23 - Walk-A-Thon for Stewart will be held Wednesday, April 23rd! Parents are welcome to attend. If we have bad weather on the 23rd, we will have a Walk-A-Thon makeup day on Thursday 4/24.

CURRENT ATTENDANCE RATE

Currently, Stewart Elementary is at a 12% chronic absenteeism rate. We're glad to see the number of absences decrease again after several run-ins with illnesses that impacted the school through January and February. Please continue to communicate with Stewart when your child is absent and, if you have them, turn in your doctor's notes. Thank you parents for making sure your students are getting to school!

2025-2026 Classroom Lists

Now that April is here, teachers will begin building rosters for the 2025-2026 school year. We always try to be intentional when we build rosters to set the best learning environment possible. When building rosters, we consider the following factors....

Academic Performance
Behavior
Boy:Girl Ratio
Peer-to-Peer Relationships
Student-Teacher Relationships
Similar Sounding Names
Additional Supports (i.e. interventions, IEP's, para supports, etc.)

Any Roster Consideration forms that were turned in will be reviewed. We try to accommodate them wherever it is possible, but it is not a guarantee. Depending on the factors above, some requests are not possible.

By early May, rosters will be set. Before the end of the school year, we will have a Move Up Day where students will get to meet their teacher for next year and interact with their new classmates.

REMINDERS

NEGATIVE LUNCH BALANCES

Just a little reminder about the Negative Lunch Balance Notices your child may receive, students with siblings at other schools are all linked together - so a charge might be from a different school. If your student/family are on Free/Reduced and you student wishes to get an extra milk, al a cart item, or brings a cold lunch and needs a milk those items are not included in the Free/Reduced program so you will be responsible for those charges. If you have any questions or need more information about this please feel free to contact the office and we would be happy to discuss this further with you.

END OF DAY / DISMISSAL CHANGES

If there will be a change in your students after school plans, please notify the office by 2pm Monday-Thursday and noon on Friday if possible. When there are changes, there are several things to communicate to ensure students get where they are supposed to go. Please allow us time to make these changes by notifying us as early as possible.

STUDENT ILLNESS

If your child is not feeling well, please use the guidelines below to help determine if your student is able to attend school or not. If your child is not well enough to attend school, please be sure to contact the school to inform us of their absence.
