Teacher Shortage
Dear Bellevue Community,
I want to take a moment to address an important issue we’re facing—like many districts across the state, we are experiencing a teacher shortage. This challenge impacts our ability to fully staff our classrooms with the dedicated educators our students deserve.
Please know that we are actively working on solutions to ensure our students continue to receive a high-quality education. This includes recruiting efforts, supporting our current staff, and exploring creative approaches to meet our students’ needs.
We understand this situation is concerning and appreciate your patience and support as we navigate these challenges. Our commitment to your children’s education is unwavering, and we are doing everything in our power to ensure they receive the best education possible.
Thank you for your understanding and for being a valued part of our Bellevue community.

Professional Development
This school year has already kicked off with so many changes and opportunities that allow us to implement the very best for our students and support our staff. We really appreciate all of the teams and trainers who fascinated our opening days of professional development. Go BRONCOS!
Washington D.C.
Bellevue High School students (grades 9-11) and their teacher, Jennifer Collins, recently spent four days exploring Washington D.C. and Gettysburg. Not only was the trip packed with an extensive amount of American History, but the fun and memories will last a lifetime. This opportunity was a two year process, and we are planning another trip for 2026!
New Staff Spotlight: Hans Morgan
Hello Everyone!
I am Hans Morgan. I will be teaching Middle School Math and PE. While this will be my 1st year teaching in Bellevue, I am married to Shelley Morgan, who is beginning her 25th year as a teacher in Bellevue. For the past 10 years, I have worked as an Electrical Designer at the Architecture and Engineering firm of Diekema-Hammond in Kalamazoo, MI. In addition, I am also the Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer Coach at Marshall High School. Shelley and I have been married for 28 years and three children. Landon just graduated from Olivet College and is pursuing a job in education or coaching collegiate swimming. Shea just graduated from Western Michigan University and is taking a gap year before returning to WMU for grad school. Our daughter , Emma, also graduated this spring, from Marshall High School, and is living in East Lansing where she will be attending Lansing Community College.
I have a degree in Mathematics from Olivet College and math was always a favorite subject of mine during my educational career. I am excited to be joining Bellevue Schools and I am looking forward to getting started.
