Walnut Wolves
A Message from Mrs. Gonzales
Dear Walnut Families,
This month, we are focusing on the character trait of kindness, and we are encouraging our students to find ways to promote kindness within our Walnut community. Whether it’s offering a helping hand, using kind words, or simply being considerate of others, we believe these actions can make a meaningful difference in fostering a positive and supportive environment for everyone.
Keeping students involved in school activities plays a vital role in promoting their confidence and sense of connection to our school community. We want to extend a special thank you to those who have signed up for Volleyball and Folklorico. Your support in encouraging your child's participation in these programs helps them build friendships, develop new skills, and feel more connected to their school experience.
Thank you so much for your continued cooperation in following our parking lot routine. By moving all the way forward before your student exits the vehicle, you are helping to ensure a smooth and safe drop-off process for everyone. We also truly appreciate your commitment to using the crosswalk to cross safely onto our campus – your attention to safety is invaluable.
At Walnut, we have set a goal of achieving a 96% attendance rate, and we are excited to reward the classes with the highest attendance each month. This month, we are proud to announce that Mr. McKellip’s class earned the trophy and donuts for 4th-6th grade, while Ms. Valadez’s class took home the trophy and donuts for 1st-3rd grade. Congratulations to both classes for their outstanding commitment to attending school! We encourage you to make illness the only reason for your child to be absent so that we can continue to reach our attendance goals and provide the best learning experience possible.
Kindergarten registration open on January 13th! See informational flyer below. We will be honoring Martin Luther King's birthday on January 20th. There will be no school.
Lastly, don’t forget to order your yearbooks! It's a great way to capture and remember the memories made this school year.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Gonzales
