SWWC STUDENTS AT WORK!
DeWalt Representatives Visit the Building Trades Program!
Thank you to Austin and Ryan, two DeWalt representatives, who visited the Building Trades class. They introduced and demonstrated the latest and greatest in cordless power tools!
Health Science Students visit Washtenaw Community College for Dental Nursing!
Some students from the SWWC Health Science program attended a WCC Immersion opportunity in Dental Nursing. Throughout the day they learned about working in the industry, networked and participated in some hands-on experiences. What a great day!
DECA Members Volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House!
DECA members from Mrs. Mailloux's Marketing program visited the local Ronald McDonald House and volunteered with various tasks. After the students heard a brief introduction about the operations of the House, they received a tour and met some families. Students then helped bake muffins and participated in some local cleaning of playrooms. Thank you, DECA, for your service!
What is the SWWC?
The South & West Washtenaw Consortium (SWWC) provides Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities to 11th and 12th grade students enrolled in the Chelsea, Dexter, Lincoln, Manchester, Milan, and Saline school districts. Approximately 1000 students participate in our state-approved CTE programs as they continue to plan and prepare for college and career.
On behalf of the thirty-eight SWWC staff members, we welcome you to the 24/25 school year! Thank you for enrolling in one of our twenty-three Career and Technical Education classes offered at Chelsea, Dexter, and Saline High School, as well as our off-site locations specifically for Cosmetology and Building Trades. We are excited to have you in the consortium!
If you have any questions, please contact Kara Stemmer, the Director of the SWWC at 734.401.4371 or via email at stemmkar@salineschools.org.
