STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS - Redhawk Pride
Our student directed show 9 to 5 - The Musical by Dolly Parton and Patricia Resnick will run this evening at 7:30, Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are free for NHS faculty, $15 for Adults, and $10 for students and senior citizens, and $15 for adults.
9 to 5 The Musical is based on the 1980 movie of the same name. Set in a traditional man centered office reminiscent of the 1970s. This satirical spoof takes aim at the unjust toxic masculine culture of bosses more concerned with their own fulfillment than that of the company and or their employees. To be clear: this disclaimer: the outdated ideas, themes, values and behaviors of Mr. Hart and similar characters are not supported or promoted by the cast, crew, school or district; instead we offer this show as a reminder and as an education.
Senior student director Marly Rotenberg offers: “ the themes of sexual harassment, misogyny and gender discrimination that this show incorporated when the musical was written over 40 years ago and takes place in the 1970s remain prevalent in our society today. As we still haven't achieved the equality and feminism that the 9 to 5 musical alludes to, the musical serves as a reminder of these larger goals we must keep striving to achieve.”
Aside from important discussions and thoughts raised from this musical, the show offers a fun score and lots of laughs as Violet, Judy, and Doralee go from envisioning revenge on Hart, their monster boss, to an actual scheme that may bring many welcome changes.
Join the Natick students and mostly female led student production staff and come see the student directed production of 9 to 5 the musical this weekend - Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 2pm, and Sunday at 2pm.Tickets are free for NHS faculty, $10 for students and seniors, and $15 for adults at the door, or can be reserved in advance using this link!

HEALTH CLINIC
Just a reminder, if your child tests positive for Covid-19, they must stay home for 5 days. The day they started symptoms is Day 0, the next day is Day 1, then Day 2, etc. They may return to school on Day 6 and must wear a mask for an additional 5 days. A headache, scratchy throat, congestion/runny nose, cough, and/or fever are some of the more common symptoms of Covid-19.
Siblings and close contacts do not need to quarantine and can come to school as long as they are not having symptoms of illness. However, they must wear a mask for 10 days when around others following a Covid exposure.
