Dear Parents and Carers,
As we have recently communicated, in our continued efforts to safeguard and protect our children while travelling to school, we remind you that Moxon Close is closed to all traffic during the following times:
- Morning: 8.30am – 9.15am
- Afternoon: 2.50pm – 3.30pm
During these hours, only vehicles with a permit issued by the school should be using the road, which includes parents/carers with a disabled badge. If you hold a blue badge and need to use the road during these times, you must obtain a permit from the school.
For those using taxis, please ensure that the driver does not travel down Moxon Close when dropping off or picking up your child, in order to ensure the safety of all children in the area.
Unfortunately, there have been several near misses recently due to the volume of traffic around the school. We urge you to park further away from the school gates if possible and walk to the entrance.
We would also like to remind you that the school car park is private property and for staff use only. Parents should not be entering the staff car park past the gates, unless previously arranged with the school. This includes parents using the breakfast club or after-school club facilities. If you have been using the staff car park to drop off your child, please stop doing so immediately and use Moxon Close when it is open to traffic.
Lastly, please be mindful that the speed limit on the approach to school is 5 mph. We’ve had reports of parents driving at an unacceptable speed, especially when accessing the disabled space in front of the school. We ask that you remain cautious and considerate of the young children in the area.
Your cooperation is essential in keeping our school community safe, and we appreciate your understanding and support.
Take care,
Mrs Winter
Headteacher
NHS Pharmacy First Service
Did you know that the NHS Pharmacy First Service enables children and adults to get convenient access to healthcare advice and treatment where appropriate, for seven common conditions without the potential delay of having to wait for a GP appointment? Accessing the service may mean that can help children feel better and back to school as quickly as possible, as well as supporting parents/carers to also get better if they are unwell with one of the conditions covered under the service.
There is no need to make an appointment; parents or carers can pop into their local Boots pharmacy with their child and ask for help under the service.
Support for the following conditions can be accessed under the service, free of charge (unless NHS prescription charges apply):
- Earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
- Impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
- Infected insect bites and stings (aged 1 year and over)
- Sore throats (aged 5 years and over)
- Sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women (aged 16 to 64 years)
