Guidelines for Schedule Adjustments
Any adjustments following the initial course selection process in January are limited and will be only be considered for the following reasons:
*Moving classes around will not be allowed unless there are extenuating circumstances. Please contact an Administrator if there are such circumstances.
1. You are missing a class (especially a core class) or have an incomplete schedule. Course descriptions can be found here.
2. You are scheduled for an incorrect level (i.e. you are registered for Algebra II but should be in Algebra II Honors).
3. Two classes are listed for the same period.
4. You are missing PE and do not qualify for a PE Waiver because you do not have a full schedule (7 classes) all three trimesters.
- Students who meet one of these criteria may request an adjustment of their schedule (adding or dropping a course) by completing this Google Form. Schedule changes can ONLY be completed using the 24-25 Schedule Change Request Form or by appointment.
- Requests that would result in an imbalance in the section numbers of a course will NOT be approved.
- Requests for teacher change will not be granted except under extenuating circumstances. A teacher change form will need to be completed and turned into the school main office. All requests will be reviewed by the principal and will require a parent contact.
***Schedule change requests may be made during the posted adjustment period- August 1, 2024- August 23, 2024.

What Classes Do I Need to Graduate from City High?
We encourage our students to monitor their own individual progress towards graduation. The graduation checklist below can help students and families keep track of what courses are required to graduate from City High.
Common Questions Answered
What are City High’s graduation requirements? You need at least 305 credits to graduate. This includes: 4 years of English, 3 years of Math, 3 years of Science and 3 years of Social Studies. Each class per trimester earns you 5 credits if you pass.
How does a PE waiver work? There are several types of PE waivers - Academic, Athletic, and Medical (Documentation Required). Athletic waivers, mean students finished a full-season in a Fall, Winter or Spring sport. Academic waiver is applied ONLY if a student has 7 classes EACH trimester for the year. Stop by the guidance office for a PE Waiver or make an appointment with your counselor if you have any questions.
What’s an easy way to apply to college? www.commonapp.org allows you to apply to multiple colleges with one application.
How do I send my transcript to a college, the NCAA, or a potential employer?
- Current students and the Class of 2024 are able to have transcripts sent at no charge by completing this Student Transcript Request Form.
- Former students can order official transcripts using MySchoolBucks. There is a $3 fee.
