Endeavour Elementary
Eagle News - Vol. 5 - April 2, 2024
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Families,
I want to extend heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for joining us at our recent Multicultural Night. This beautiful event is a true celebration of diversity and unity within our community. We want to express our deepest appreciation to the staff and family volunteers who generously devoted their time and efforts to showcase their cultural heritage. Your dedication highlighted the beauty of our collective differences and underscored the profound unity we find in our diversity. Together, we continue to foster an environment at Endeavour where every culture is cherished and celebrated.
With gratitude,
~Tamara
Golden Feather Award
This month's Golden Feather Award was given to our amazing paraeducator, Atsumi Nagai-Voorhees. Ms. Atsumi has a beautiful heart for students, and works hard to help them feel seen and valued at school every day. This is what one 3rd grader had to say about her, "Ms. Atsumi, you are so kind and nice. You are very smart and respectful. You are a good influence to me."
Thank you, Ms. Atsumi, for helping to make Endeavour a wonderful place to be!
Family Survey
You are invited to share about your experiences with schools and the district. The family survey is open through April 5. The survey should only take 10 to 15 minutes to complete and is available in several languages including English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Korean, Dari, Pashto, Tagalog, Arabic, Vietnamese and several others.
It’s easy!
- Choose your language preference on the opening page of the survey.
- Select your student’s school. If you have children in multiple schools, complete one survey per child.
- Complete the survey and click submit.
Take the survey now. (Click on the link here).
Thank you for helping us get a sense of how people are doing and how we can better support students and families. Your responses are extremely important and help guide our work each year.
Arrival and Dismissal
Student arrival begins at 8:40 am daily:
- First Bell is at 8:50 am
- Students enter classrooms at 8:55 am
- Students must be in their seats by 9:00 am to be marked present. If your child misses their line entering class, students must report to the office to check in and/or receive a tardy pass.
Dismissal times are as follows:
- 3:25 pm Monday-Thursday
- 2:10 pm Friday
Expectations:
- At drop off and pick up, when you turn into the parking lot, we need to form TWO LINES of cars. This will help prevent additional back up onto Harbour Pointe Boulevard.
- Once you reach the stop sign, it will go EVERY OTHER CAR as you turn into the single lane (Zipper merge).
- Slow down and pay attention to our hard-working flaggers. They have a BIG job and deserve to be safe and treated with respect.
If we are each willing to work together and do our part, our drop off and pick-up will be smoother and safer for all.
Do you have a child who will be at least 5 years old by August 31, 2024? Registration for kindergarten classes in the 2024-25 school year is open.
Families can register online or visit your neighborhood elementary school between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on school days to pick up a registration packet.
Documents Needed
- Verification of child's birthdate
- Verification of address (i.e. current utility bill, lease or closing documents)
- Medically verified immunization records
- Emergency contact names and phone numbers
Immunization Requirements
The vaccines required for school attendance are established by the State of Washington. New students must be current in immunizations to attend school. According to state law, students who are out of compliance with immunization requirements must be excluded from school until those conditions are met. Learn more about the state’s immunization requirements on the district immunizations website.
