Shoe Wear Policy
All students are required to wear appropriate school footwear. Slides, sandals, crocs, and similar shoes are not permitted. Please ensure that all students are wearing closed-toe shoes, such as sneakers or boots. If a student is found wearing inappropriate footwear, a guardian will be contacted to provide alternative shoes. Thank you for your cooperation!
Bookbag Tags
Please refer to the image below. Students' bookbag tags must remain at home and should not be brought to school. Thank you for your understanding!
Important Attendance Reminder
Student attendance is crucial for academic success! It’s essential that students arrive at school every day and on time.
School starts at 8:00 AM, so students should be in the building beforehand to avoid being marked late. Students are allowed to come to school at 7:30 AM for breakfast/homework help.
If your child has a doctor’s appointment, please ensure they either:
- Come to school before the appointment and get picked up early, or
- Arrive at school after the appointment.
Whenever possible, try to schedule appointments outside of school hours to minimize missed instruction.
Important: If your child has an appointment, always bring a doctor’s note to submit at the main office.
If your child will be arriving late or absent due to a doctor’s appointment, please call the school to inform us.
For any attendance-related inquiries, contact Ms. Espinal, our social worker, at (718) 821-4860
Cell Phone Policy
Please take a moment to view the document outlining our cell phone policy. You can download the document or click the button below to visit our school website for more information.
Request Device
This is a form to request a device. Please note that these devices do not have internet/wireless built in and will only work at home if they have their own wifi access. Also these devices are first come first serve and will not be given to any household if they already have a DOE device. No student will receive a second device if it is broken or damaged in any way.

Visitor Policy
Main Entrance: Always enter and exit through the main entrance on St. Nicholas Avenue.
Check-In: Stop at the School Safety Agent’s desk every time you visit and show a photo ID. Please wear the visitor pass you receive while in the building.
Office Location: Go directly to the main office, room 109.
No Wandering: Do not wander through the building or visit other floors.
Restroom Use: Use only the adult restrooms located on the first floor. Adults are prohibited from entering student restrooms.
Visitor Pass Return: Return your visitor pass to the Safety Agent when your visit is complete.

Always remember to bring your ID. Individuals without ID will not be allowed to proceed to the main office.

If you need a letter confirming that your student is currently enrolled in the school for purposes such as food stamps, housing, or tax reasons, please call the school first to request the letter. Remember, only a parent or guardian can pick up the letter; it cannot be sent home with the student or picked up by anyone else.
