First Day Arrival
Doors will open at 7:35am for all students. PreK and Kindergarten families may walk their student to class the first day of school. All other students will enter the building through the covered area double red doors at the back of the building (facing the playground). Staff will be available to help students find their teachers. Please see the map below.
Daily Arrival - 2nd Day and Beyond
The second day forward, doors will open at 7:30am. PreK and DLC students will be dropped off at the first west side (Yale Park side) door. TLC students will be dropped off at the second west side (Yale Park side) door. All other students, including kindergarten, will enter the building through the covered area double red doors at the back of the building (facing the playground). Staff will be available to help students find their teachers. Please see the map below.
We ask families to remain in cars at all times. Students will exit cars from the driver's side.
Please refrain from dropping students off prior to 7:30am as they will be unsupervised. Yale has before school xPlore services that begin at 6:35am. The link below provides additional information.
Daily Dismissal
Safety is our primary focus. Please be aware of students and car movement at all times around the campus. We ask families to remain in cars at all times. Students will enter cars from the driver's side.
Older siblings will join their younger siblings for dismissal to ensure one pick up location.
PreK dismissal begins at 3:00pm in the front U-shaped drive of the school. Kindergarten will dismiss in the front drive also beginning at 3:10pm.
1st-6th grade and DLC/TLC cars will enter from Collins. Cars will use the outside lane to go around the back of the building to get to the needed grade level dismissal area. Cars move to the inside lane at their students pick up location. See the map below for each grade's dismissal location.
Thank you for your patience during the first few days of dismissal as our new students and families become familiar with dismissal procedures.

RISD Moving to SchoolCafe for Cafeteria Payments
Richardson ISD is implementing a new school cafeteria payment system for 2023-24, called SchoolCafe, and will no longer be using the PayPams service.
Existing balances in PayPams will automatically be moved when parents create a SchoolCafe account. Please click here for more information about SchoolCafe.
To receive free or reduced-price meal benefits for the 2023-2024 school year, families can complete a meal benefit application via this SchoolCafe link. Parents at RISD campuses must sign up their family if they wish to receive school meal benefits.
Parents with questions or in need of assistance may visit the RISD Child Nutrition website or contact RISD Child Nutrition at 469-593-0109 or 469-593-0102.
RISD Library Opt-Out Program - Elementary
RISD Library Services offers an updated Select Title Opt-Out option to provide RISD parents with an opportunity to identify specific titles to opt out of library checkout for their child. RISD recognizes that families and students are unique, and different parents may have varying expectations regarding their students’ reading lives and choices. This year, parents of elementary students may sign-up to have their child(ren) placed on an “opt-out” list for Epic. Epic is a free reading platform for elementary educators to use as a reading resource in their classrooms during the school day. Students that opt-out of Epic will have the app removed from their iPad and the website blocked.
If you signed up your student(s) for the Opt-Out program in the past, you will need to submit a new form for each child for the 23-24 school year. Parents who would like to opt their student(s) out from access to specific titles and/or Epic can do so by contacting their school Library Information Technology Educator (LITE) or going to https://s.risd.org/elemlibraryoptout. Visit https://s.risd.org/RISDoptout for more information or to sign up.
