May 9th, 2025
Thomas Recognized as Teacher of the Year
Julianna Thomas, a Project Lead the Way teacher for Warren County Career Center at Little Miami High School, has been named the Project Excellence Teacher of the Year for Warren County Career Center. As a WCCC satellite instructor, Thomas has built a reputation for going above and beyond to create meaningful STEM learning experiences for her students. Whether it’s organizing field trips to NASA or guiding hands-on engineering challenges, she’s passionate about helping students discover their potential through real-world problem-solving. Thomas’ program recently received recognition from PLTW as a 2024-25 Distinguished School, which recognizes schools across the U.S. for their efforts to provide broad access to transformative learning experiences for students through PLTW programs.
Thomas is also a champion for inclusion in STEM. She played a key role in founding Little Miami’s all-girls robotics team and actively encourages collaboration across the high school by welcoming outside projects her students can assist with. Humble in her recognition, Thomas shared, “I would like to thank the people that took their time to nominate me, my WCCC and LMHS people, especially Molly, Robin and Justine, my awesome students that make me look good, and my husband.” Her impact reaches far beyond the classroom, inspiring the next generation of innovators and leaders. Congratulations Mrs. Thomas!

Franklin Students Win Big at WGI
Franklin High School’s Winterguard team has once again made history, this time with back-to-back state titles and their first-ever appearance as a finalist in the World Championships. The team, which includes Warren County Career Center students Tannah Stewart and Dalila Faulkner, claimed the 2024 Mid East Performance Association Scholastic A State Championship for the second year in a row and went on to finish 18th in the world championship—a first for the school. Their show, When Love Arrives, struck an emotional chord with audiences and performers alike. “I loved performing this show because it gave us an emotional connection to our audience and made us grow as a team together,” said Tannah, a senior in the Dental Assisting program. She’s been part of Winterguard since kindergarten, inspired by her older sisters. “Franklin has worked hard to be at this moment for many years,” she said. “It feels good to accomplish such a goal.”
Dalila, a junior in the Early Childhood Education program, echoed that pride. “I wouldn't trade this past winterguard season for anything in the world because I know how hard the team worked to get where we got, and it was a well-deserved win in my opinion.” Balancing WCCC classes and Winterguard was no easy feat, but both students rose to the challenge. “It just takes hard work and dedication,” Tannah shared, while Dalila built a schedule to reduce stress and stay focused. Outside of Winterguard, both students are thriving in their career tech programs. Tannah loves practicing hands-on skills in dental assisting, especially taking impressions, while Dalila finds joy helping in WCCC’s Learning Lab preschool. These outstanding students are not only representing Franklin on the national stage but also WCCC while preparing for bright futures ahead.
