Applying For College
ApplyTexas is a centralized web portal for prospective students from Texas and other states to apply for admission to Texas higher education institutions. The purpose of the program is to allow students to complete one application and submit it to multiple institutions of higher education.
You may qualify for automatic admission to many public universities in Texas through the Top 10% Rule. To meet the requirements, you must graduate in the top 10% of your class at a recognized public or private high school in Texas or a high school operated by the U.S. Department of Defense and be a Texas resident or eligible to pay resident tuition. This rule has been modified for The University of Texas at Austin please see UT Austin Admissions for the most recent admissions information.
The TSIA is a test designed to determine if a student is ready for college-level course work in the general areas of reading, writing and mathematics.
ASVAB Testing
ASVAB scores are used to determine if you are qualified to enlist in the military and to assign you to an appropriate job in the military. The information provided here will help you prepare to take the ASVAB.
Most ASVAB testing is conducted at a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). If you do not live near a MEPS, you may take the ASVAB at a satellite location called a Military Entrance Test (MET) site. The ASVAB is administered by computer at all MEPS, and by paper and pencil at most MET sites. Regardless of whether you take the ASVAB by computer or paper and pencil, your scores should be very similar.
Please let me know if you have a student that would like to sign up for the Nov 5th test and I will add them to the list.
