Principal's Message
Hello Sabre Families,
I hope that you had a great start to the month of March. As a reminder, there is no student parking at Festival Place on Friday, March 15 due to a dance festival. Please make appropriate arrangements to either car pool, take public transit or get here early enough to park in the front parking lot.
On Monday, March 4, Sal Culinary Arts students welcomed Beth Rowe to their kitchen, where they embarked on SAL's first ever intergenerational cooking class. Mrs. Rowe shared with the class one of her most treasured recipes passed down through the generations, a traditional Danish Rice Pudding dish. This delish dessert engaged the students in conversations about culture and tradition, as well as encouraged them to reflect on the value of learning from our community elders. The culinary arts class looks forward to its next lesson that will advance their culinary knowledge and expand their world view on cultural global citizenship.
Thank you Beth!
Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews:
PTS Interviews will be held this semester on Tuesday, March 19 in-person and Wednesday, March 20 over the phone. If you prefer face-to-face interviews, Tuesday is your night. Congratulations to our current grade 12's who are in their last semester of high school. The March Grad List was published on Monday, March 4 and we have ~ 355 students ready to cross that stage on Saturday, June 1. Congratulations are also extended to parents/caregivers who supported their child’s journey through school. Students and staff appreciate your help and guidance throughout these last 13 years.
As we approach Spring Break, a number of assignments and assessments will be on the horizon for our students. A reminder that all academic and CTS support is available on Opportunity Wednesdays. If you have any questions or would like to meet with Administration or Guidance to devise an individualized plan, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Have a fantastic week.
