Teachers,

The next two weeks I will be working with 2nd-5th grade students using the DRC portal. I will be reviewing the literacy tools that they can utilize during the ACAP assessment. The students will not be checking out books with me like they usually due to this. Make sure to reference the Open Checkout Schedule to help students meet their reading/AR needs. Also, you can schedule a time with me on Thursdays to bring your class to do a whole class checkout. Be mindful though, that I will have to do make up classes for MLK day for the literacy tools. I will reach out to those teachers next week to schedule their time, so I won't be able to adhere whole class checkouts to the whole school.

Please make sure to look at important information below to see how to update a Chromebook. All students need to do this before we do the practice ACAP at the end of the month and then again before the official ACAP to cut down on tech issues. A tech shortcut sheet for other issues will be shared in the future from the school counselors.

• Library lessons for K-1classes over the next few weeks will focus on strategies to help with writing. I will be modeling Story Maps and Sequencing to the students and slowly transition through the Spring with modeling writing and brainstorming. I will also be doing similar things for the older grades throughout the Spring Semester as well when time allows.
