Congratulations to all of the Franklin High School students who are listed on the semester one Honor Roll. The list includes students who finished semester one with a cumulative unweighted grade point average of 3.0 and above. Each grade level listed features 4.0 students, High Honors (3.5+), and Honors students.

Franklin High School joined the Nation in recognizing school counselors last week. We are fortunate to have four of the best! We salute Diane Gilroy, Amy Oost, Keith Decker and Mandy Kluck.

Our Construction II Class students, led by Mr. Andrew Mente, helped to build this home in Ryanwood Manor in Franklin. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was on Saturday. Students shared stories about the skills they learned with framing the house, working on the plumbing, and wiring for electricity. Thank you to Tim O'Brien Homes for this great partnership! The Math Department at FHS is offering after school sessions February 22nd & 24th, and March 1st, 3rd and 8th with a different practice test each week. Research shows that students who report preparing for the ACT exam score an average of 1.5 points higher than those who do not. We encourage all juniors at FHS to attend these sessions. Scheduled this week, a virtual WEF - check the dates on the poster below. With Covid there were no in person fairs this year, but we encourage students to check out the virtual Wisconsin Education Fairs. For more information, here is a link to the website. Virtual WEFs give students access to over 150 post secondary options.

Method Test Prep is available to all students for free and can be accessed through your Xello homepage. Method Test Prep is a tutoring and test prep organization that serves students worldwide through highly focused, cost-effective online programs, classes, and personalized tutoring. Their goal is to see a significant improvement in test scores for students who use their products and services.

This is accessible any time to our students using their Xello homepage and includes two full-length practice exams.

We know that prioritizing mental health can be difficult. Made even more difficult by busy schedules, lack of accessibility, and affordability. There are small steps we can all take each day to improve our mental health and general well-being. These include getting exercise, eating nutritious foods, getting adequate amounts of sleep, and doing things that we enjoy each day.

While home events continue to be limited to four spectators for the home team (no visiting team spectators). All spectators need to be registered in advance by the player and each spectator must present an ID at the entry table.

Home events are live streamed on The Saber Roar YouTube Channel. You are able to view events after the live stream at the same locaton. Away events are live streamed based on the host school's technology preference - check the host school's athletic website for details.

Parents/Guardians - Recently, we have had many instances where a student tries to ride a bus home with another student. This is not allowed this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Please review all bus procedures in this document here.

Prior to these restrictions, the FHS procedure was that a student cannot ride another bus without a note from both parents and prior administrative approval. Once the COVID-19 restrictions are removed, this procedure will continue for FHS.

Franklin School District is part of the Wisconsin Schools Digital Library Consortium (WSDLC). The consortium has over 200 Wisconsin school districts as members and offers over 40,000 ebooks and audiobooks for members. District Library Media System Specialist, Jill Polglaze, is a member of the WSDLC board and at a recent board meeting data was shared that Franklin School District had the highest number of active participants as well as the highest number of checkouts during the past two years. From September 1, 2020 through now, Franklin users have checked out over 21,000 electronic books!

Ebooks and audiobooks are available 24/7 for all staff and students K-12. Directions on accessing ebooks are located on the main library page and can be accessed here or you may contact staff in the school library. There are a variety of books for all levels including read alongs for younger students. Staff in all the libraries have worked with students and classes to share how to access ebooks on their Chromebooks or using the SORA app on a personal device.
