Madison School Directory now available
We are excited to announce that the 2015-2016 Madison School Directory App is now available! The Madison PTA developed the directory, which is available to all current PTA members. Please take a moment to check your family information. If any changes need to be made, please contact the Directory Committee at directory@madisonschoolpta.org. Members have until Fri., Oct. 16 to request changes before the information is printed in the directory.
If you were a DirectorySpot user last year, then you don’t need to do anything. Just log in (same username and password) and you will see the new data. Please make sure you have the latest version of DirectorySpot to see the new features (check the app store for any “updates”).
If you are a NEW user, the Directory Committee has set you up and you can download DirectorySpot for free from the App Store (iPhone users) or Google Play (Android users), or you can also access the data from the web.
For Smartphone Users:
Download the DirectorySpot app by going to your app store and searching "DirectorySpot" or by clicking on the appropriate link here: iPhone - http://goo.gl/5U2Tzq or Android - http://goo.gl/iBK9lY
Launch DirectorySpot, enter your email address as your Username, and click on "Reset Password."
Click on the link in your email to set your password, relaunch the DirectorySpot app, and login with your username and password.
For Tablet, Mac, or PC Users:
Go to directoryspot.net and click on "Login" in the upper right hand corner.
Enter your email address as your Username, and click on "Reset Password." An email will be sent to you with a link to set your password.
Click on the link in your email to set your password and login.
Note – if downloading to an iPad, just search for “iPhone apps” and you will find DirectorySpot.
Make sure to check out all the features, such as the auto dial when you click on a phone number, or the auto launching of maps when you click on an address. If you hold down the cell phone number, you will get an option to send a text or call the number (iPhone only). DirectorySpot will even create an email if you click on someone's email address.
If you would like access to the Madison School Directory, please be sure to join our PTA. You can find information about joining Madison PTA here.
If you have any data changes throughout the year, please contact the Directory Committee at directory@madisonschoolpta.org and we will update on the App and Directory website.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Participate in Make a Difference Day
Madison is participating in Make a Difference Day, which is a community-wide event. From Oct. 14-23 we will collect non-perishable/non-glass food and household items to donate to the People’s Resource Center in Wheaton. Every Madison family will be given a brown paper grocery bag to fill with items. Students can deliver all donations to school daily through Fri., Oct. 23 when we will “stuff-a-truck” with all of our donations.
Some area businesses are also collection sites and are offering special donation deals throughout the month. See flier for details.

Spotlight on Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Hull
Mrs. Janet Bailey received her degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Iowa. She has taught 1st grade and Kindergarten, as well as three years of math support. She currently teaches Madison’s only all-day Kindergarten classroom. The best part of Mrs. Bailey’s day is being with the children, her “little friends”. She is heart-warmed by the success of her former students. Mrs. Bailey is the mother of college-aged twins. In her free time, she enjoys going to Iowa and Northern Michigan to visit them.
Mrs. Christina Hull discovered her love of teaching while studying in Japan. She came to Madison in 1999 and taught 4th grade for two years before switching to PACE where she currently teaches 3rd, 4th and 5th grade reading and math. Some students have Mrs. Hull as their math and reading teacher for up to three years and in that time and because of the smaller class sizes, she is able to connect with each child’s learning style on a very individual level. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, biking and scrapbooking.
Does your child want to learn to play chess?
All Madison students (K-5) are welcome! Chess club meets on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Art room. Enter at Door 2. Our first meeting is Thurs., Nov. 5. There will be a short informational meeting for parents of Chess Club members at the first meeting.
Questions? Please contact Jennifer Denson (jmsuth@yahoo.com) or Samuel Hurtado (hurts1@yahoo.com).
