End of Year Buzz & Exam Prep!
As the school year winds down, we're buzzing with activity and gearing up for successful final exams! Next week, Grade 6 & 9 students write ELA Part A, and Grades 7 & 8 write ELA Final Exam Part A.
For our Grade 6 and junior high students, the next few weeks are crucial for solidifying their learning and demonstrating their progress.
Here’s what you and your child can expect and how you can best support them:
- Review & Reinforce: Encourage active participation in teacher-led review sessions to clarify concepts.
- Exam Prep: Help your child mark the upcoming exam schedule and establish a study routine. Emphasize breaking down material, practice questions, and rest.
- Balance: Encourage focus on academics while still enjoying end-of-year activities.
- Home Support: Provide a quiet study space, and promote healthy habits (nutrition, sleep). Your encouragement is vital.
- Communication: If your child feels overwhelmed, encourage them to speak with teachers or counselors. We're here to help!
We are so proud of the hard work and dedication our students have shown this year. Let's work together to ensure a strong and successful finish!
Blessings,
Mrs. Kleparchuk & Mrs. Crowston

St. Emile Parish
Here is this week's bulletin. We are beginning the Sixth Week of Easter.
Father Ambrose will be away from May 26th to 30th, so there will be no weekday Masses celebrated this week. Bishop Gary will be visiting our parish next weekend on May 31st and June 1st.
Throughout the Summer, our Parish will be presenting Eucharistic Miracle talks 5 minutes before Mass.
The Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton prepared a story of Bishop Emeritus Paul Terrio on the 55th anniversary of his presbyteral ordination to celebrate this milestone! Here is the link: https://caedm.ca/bishop-paul-terrio-celebrates-55-years-of-ministry

Taming the Fixed Mindset Monster!
Earlier this year, in our wellness lessons, we learned all about growth mindset vs. fixed mindset
We discovered that a fixed mindset is like a little monster in our brain that says things like, “I can’t do this,” or “I’ll never be good at this.” But guess what? That monster isn’t telling the truth! It just gets scared of mistakes and forgets how powerful our brains really are.
We also learned how to tame that monster by using a growth mindset—which means believing we can get better at things with practice, effort, and learning from mistakes. Some of the growth mindset phrases we practiced were:
“I can’t do this… YET!”
“Mistakes help me learn.”
“I’m proud of how hard I’m trying.
Encouraging these kinds of thoughts helps kids become braver learners, kinder to themselves, and more confident in facing challenges.
Try using some of these phrases at home when things get tricky!
