January 2025
A message from Mr. Rose
Happy New Year, Wilson Families! As we embark on 2025, we are thrilled to continue our “road trip” toward academic excellence—stopping along the way to celebrate milestones, set new goals, and reinforce our commitment to the success of every student in our district.
One remarkable part of our journey is the support we offer to families beyond the classroom. This month, we want to shine a spotlight on the incredible work being done by our Wilson Community Center team, led by Mrs. Dina Cutler and Mr. Josue Parra. Their dedication to caring for the “whole family” has made a tremendous impact on our community. Through food drives, clothing assistance, resource referrals, and so much more, they ensure that Wilson families receive the help they need to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Their efforts remind us that school isn’t just about reading, writing, and arithmetic; it’s also about fostering an environment where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to pursue their dreams. By addressing critical family needs, Mrs. Cutler and Mr. Parra are helping to remove barriers to learning and creating a nurturing space for all Wilson students.
We are deeply grateful for the Wilson Community Center’s unwavering commitment to our families. Their tireless work sets our district apart—providing valuable services that not many schools can offer. Thank you, Mrs. Cutler and Mr. Parra, for going above and beyond to ensure that every Wilson family can thrive.
As we cruise into the new year, keep an eye out for the many exciting opportunities coming up for our students and families. From engaging after-school programs to workshops and community events, we are eager to continue building a supportive community that fosters growth, collaboration, and success.
Thank you for joining us on this ongoing road trip to academic excellence. Together, we can make 2025 a year of achievement, possibility, and bright futures for all!
With sincere gratitude and excitement,

Happy New Year! I want to take a moment to reflect on the achievements of the past year and share my excitement for the opportunities ahead. The start of a new year is always a time for fresh beginnings, and I am thrilled about what we can accomplish together as a school community.
Before we look ahead, I would like to celebrate some highlights from the past semester. We are continuing to support our learners with unique and targeted instructional practices. We also have plans to connect our students to the local organizations and agencies to broaden their awareness of different resources that are available to optimize their educational future.

Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Dear Wilson Community,
As we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we are reminded of his unwavering dedication to the values of commitment, fairness, equality, and honesty. Dr. King’s vision and leadership in the fight for civil rights continue to inspire us to create a world where justice and opportunity are accessible to all.
Dr. King once said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” This powerful statement reminds us that the challenges faced by some ultimately affect us all. As educators, we have the privilege and responsibility to ensure that every child we teach has access to a fair and equal opportunity to succeed. By modeling inclusivity, honesty, and integrity, we prepare our students not only to excel academically but also to lead lives of empathy and integrity.
His life teaches us the importance of standing together in unity to build a brighter future. Here at Wilson School District, "Unity makes our organization stronger." This unity was felt as we sat down to eat and talk together during the holiday season. When we come together as educators, students, and families, we create a foundation for growth, strength, and success for the next generation.
Important Dates to Remember:
- January 15, 2025: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday
- January 20, 2025: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day – No School
Let this season inspire us to reflect on how we can embody Dr. King’s teachings in our daily lives and in our classrooms. Together, let us create a future where every child feels supported, valued, and empowered to achieve their dreams. Lastly, let’s remind every child that there is no barrier stronger than love and kindness!
Thank you for your dedication to our mission and for fostering an environment where every student can thrive.
With gratitude, Jevon Lewis

Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful holiday season. When we welcome the new year, we often set goals and look forward to what is to come with excitement. This time of the year is especially exciting for us because this is the year where our Facilities shine! This year we are painting the entire Elementary School and are also going to replace all our roofs. Now our school will look like a new school in our community and we all can be proud that our students and teachers have such a wonderful school to learn and teach. Facilities has many more projects coming in 2025 to enhance our facilities for the future of the Wilson District.
Here is a snapshot of 2024, we replaced the cooling tower and 16 classroom A/C’s, added more shade structures to protect our students and parents from the sun and more to come.
Let’s have a Positive and Prosperous 2025 Year
