Wolman Elementary Newsletter

News from Ms. Ricks, Principal
Dear Wolman Families,
It has been another amazing week of learning at Wolman Elementary! Our staff loved the amazing sweet treats provided by our wonderful PTA this week and our Explorers are very excited about Thankful Parties which will be held tomorrow according to the schedule below! Our Thankful Parties will be lots of fun for our students and families! Here are a few reminders to help tomorrow's parties go smoothly; we kindly ask that you review the following information carefully:
*Please bring your government issued identification with you at your child's party time tomorrow and present it at the check in area upon arrival. If you completed the Pre Raptor link information, you will be given your visitor badge. If you did not complete the Pre-Raptor information, you will be sent inside to present your identification to obtain your Raptor badge.
*Due to limited space in our gym area with lots of activities going on, we encourage only one parent/guardian/grandparent to attend each party. If a parent is unable to attend, a grandparent who is listed on your student's KISD Elementary Lunch Visitor Form is welcome to attend. Grandparents not listed on the student's KISD Elementary Lunch Visitor Form may not attend.
*Parking will be limited, so we encourage any families who live nearby to walk to our campus.
*There will not be lunch visitors tomorrow. Students will be eating lunch in classrooms due to the use of the cafeteria/gym for our Thankful Parties. If you are able to send your child with a sack lunch, this would be greatly appreciated. If not, no worries, students will be able to go through the serving line and take their lunch tray back to his/her classroom.
*While we encourage all students to stay for the entire school day and utilize their regular dismissal mode, any parents who wish to check out their child after their Thankful Party will receive a slip of paper from their child's teacher to take to the library where there will be lines for checkout. Please expect extended wait times for early checkouts. Any students checked out after a party will not be able to attend a party held later in the day.
Thank you to all those parents who turned in thankful notes to distribute to our awesome staff members. Our staff truly feels your gratitude and appreciation! If you haven't yet had a chance to turn in a note of thanks, you can still do so by using the following link:

Chromebook Reminders
Student ID's for Bus Riders
Student ID’s for Bus Riders
As a reminder, ID’s are required by all students entering the bus and in order to ensure safety, failure to enter a bus and a campus without a student ID cannot occur. Students were provided two ID's at the beginning of the school year; one of which was attached to their backpack. If your child has misplaced his/her ID, parents will need to provide a replacement. Bus riders who fail to have an ID may be suspended from transportation services. We appreciate your assistance with ensuring your child's ID stays attached to his/her backpack for safety purposes. Please contact your child's teacher if he/she needs a new student ID. Thank you!
New Procedures Regarding Lunch Visitors
It has been great seeing so many lunch visitors! As a reminder only parents/guardians, non-school aged children and immediate family listed on the 24-25 Lunch Visitors Parent Permission form are able to visit for lunch. Due to limited space, visitors are limited to 2 visitors per student. Please note the following: Each parent must sign up for their own seat and a separate seat for any non school age siblings. PLEASE REMEMBER when signing up to include your child's name and teacher in the comments. All visitors must show a physical, hard copy government issued ID (driver's license or passport) when you arrive for lunch. We ask that each student be limited to having a lunch visit one day per week to allow all Explorers the opportunity to have a lunch visit. If you are not able to come to lunch after you signed up, please remove your name from the list. Also, please be aware that a few minutes prior to your child's lunch time ending, the monitors will direct your child to join his/her class; this helps with making our cafeteria exit procedures run more smoothly. The following links will guide you in signing up for lunch times to visit your child and with providing lunch visitor permission. Please call 281 234 1700 with any questions. Thank you!

School Store
Hello Wolman Explorers and parents!
The 2nd RJWE school store will be held December 3, 2024 during the students’ recess time in the LGI room. We will have a drawing again for students who attend school store. They can place their name in a box for the drawing to be announced on a later date.
The school store flyer with items and prices, all $5.00 and under, will be posted on the PTA website and all social media. We have a few seasonal Christmas items and parent gifts that will be available for students to purchase. Please send money with your child's name and amount written on a ziploc bag. Kinder parents - it would be greatly appreciated if you would please count your child’s money so the teachers don’t have to stop teaching to count their money before recess. Also, money is not allowed to be dropped off at the front office. You are welcome to notify your child’s teacher and meet them in the LGI or shop for items for your child yourself. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks and credit cards.
