Dear Jefferson Families,

Last May, The Illinois State Board of Education provided school districts the opportunity to apply for the Preschool For All Grant. It is my pleasure to announce the District 64 has been awarded the Preschool For All Grant and we will be able to provide tuition free preschool for students and families that meet the eligibility requirements. Preschool for All is Illinois’ promise that all three- and four-year-olds can engage in the early learning experiences they need to succeed in school and in life.

In order for us to be able to provide tuition free preschool for all families, we must meet the compliance guidelines set forth by the State of Illinois. Our goal is to implement all compliance guidelines by the 25-26 school year. This will not impact any family/student currently enrolled at Jefferson, however for any new or returning families/students we will be required to collect some additional information prior to enrollment. Prior to enrollment, all children will need to participate in a developmental screening. During the screening process, parents will be required to participate in a parent interview with a member of our screening team. The purpose of the interview is for us to learn about the needs and wants of our families and students so that we can identify resources and supports to provide families and students a more robust educational experience. In addition, families will be required to provide proof of income. Please refer to the Proof of Income FAQ attached below for additional information.

If you intend on re-enrolling your child at Jefferson next school year, please complete the Request for A Parent Interview form below. This will assist us with scheduling a parent interview with you so that we meet the compliance requirements. Your child will not be required to participate in the developmental screening, as they have already been screened.

If you intend on enrolling another child for preschool at Jefferson for the remainder of the 24-25 school year or for the 25-26 school year, please complete the Jefferson Early Childhood Center Preschool Screening Questionnaire. After completing the questionnaire, you will receive a call to schedule a screening.

If you have questions or would like to learn more about the Preschool For All Grant, I encourage you to attend our family information night on December 5th @ 6:00 PM. Participants are welcome to attend in person or virtually. Please mark your calendars and additional information will be forthcoming.

Thank you so much for the incredible field trip to the fire department! The preschool students had an amazing time learning about fire safety and exploring the fire trucks. Your team's passion and dedication made this experience unforgettable for our little ones.

I greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity and for celebrating me last Friday for Principal's Day. I am so very honored to be working with the students, families, and staff at Jefferson. This is an incredible community that I am lucky to be part of each and every day.
