Hello Santiago Families-
Our first dance of the 24-25 school year was a success! We hope students had a great time at our Hello Dance. The next dance will be on Friday, October 25th (Halloween Dance).
PTSA Reflections Art Program: The theme for this year's Reflection contest is: "Accepting Imperfection." If your student is interested in entering our PTSA Reflections Art Program, please scroll below for the flyer and participation rules.
PE Uniforms: Students will be expected to dress out for PE starting this week.
🌞 Beat the heat! As temperatures continue to rise, it's important to keep our students hydrated and comfortable. Please send your child to school with a water bottle. We have them covered with convenient drinking fountains and water filling stations throughout our campus.

PTSA Reflections Art Program
The Reflection theme for the 24-25 school year is "Accepting Imperfection." You can explore the different categories listed in the attachment below. To submit your artwork, please use the link provided and make sure to complete this form: reflections link. Submissions are due by October 18th at 3pm, no exceptions.
Please note that the artist statement is especially important, as it carries the most weight in judging, so remind your students to give it careful thought. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Danielle Francis at smcreflections2023@gmail.com
PTSA Corner

Expanded Learning Program (ELP)
Our Expanded Learning Program (ELP) runs Monday-Thursday, starting right after school and goes until 5:30pm. If you have any questions, concerns or want to report an absence from ELP, please reach out to our ELP Coordinator, Laura Ontiveros, at lontiveros@orangeusd.org or 657-562-7103.
El Modena Cheer Camp
El Modena's cheer program will be hosting a mini cheer camp at El Modena High School on Saturday, Sept. 7th for campers, kindergarten-8th grade. Campers will then have the opportunity to perform at the varsity football game's feeder night at Fred Kelly Stadium on Sept. 12th. Here is a link to register:

Santana Expectations
Everyday, Santanas are expected to follow the guidelines for our campus. For clarification of these expectations and what we will be discussing with students the first week of school, please click here.
Attendance
We would like to emphasize the vital role that regular attendance plays in your child's educational journey. Consistent attendance not only helps your child stay on track with their learning, but it also fosters a sense of responsibility and commitment to their education. If your child needs to miss school, please notify us promptly by phone or by sending a note/doctor's note to school with your child. You can call our attendance number 24/7 at 714-628-5681.
Nutrition Services
This is just a reminder that each student is eligible for one free breakfast or nutrition snack as well as one free lunch per day. Breakfast is served from 7:15 - 7:55 am in the cafeteria Monday - Friday.
