Center School Chronicle
Friday, May 24
Congratulations to our amazing musicians for a job well done Wednesday evening! The performance was a testament to the time and hard work that has been put into honing your craft. The arts continue to be a pillar of Center School and we appreciate the support from our community.
A special thank you to Ms. Gould and Mr. Brown who lead this great work!
Author Visit Thursday!
Mr. Cobb brought the energy! Teaching us how to write and progress our thinking using a small moment, Mr. Cobb gave a real life example that turned into one of his favorite books, Baseball, Bullies & Angels. The interactive presentation was an inspiration to our young readers and writers.
The cast and crew got back together one last time for some pizza and snacks during their watch party!

Garden Club & Plant the Moon Challenge
The Garden Club was working hard this Friday!
Today, Center School’s Garden Club visited Memorial School to collaborate with Memorial’s Garden Club. Each group shared what they have been working on and how the outdoor raised garden beds differ from Center School’s greenhouse. Center students brought kale and pumpkin plants, which they had grown from seed to transplant to Memorial’s garden. We also planted rainbow beets, squash and flower seedlings, which had been under grow lights in Memorial’s kitchen.
Memorial students saw how their corn, which was “planted” in a plastic bag last week had sprouted. We even got to visit a nest of baby birds in the courtyard!
Upon returning to Center School, the Club gave a presentation during the school assembly showcasing the Plant the Moon Challenge.

If a student has four unexcused absences in one month or 10 unexcused absences in a year they are classified as truant. If a child misses 18 or more days in a school year – excused or unexcused absences – the student is classified as chronically absent.
