Assalamu alaikum respected parents, Jumma Mubarak! I pray everyone is doing well in sha Allah. As the weather is becoming chilly, please make sure to send your children with a jacket as we always send kids outdoor for recess unless there is rain or snow. So far, students have been able to go to the playground for recess every Sunday since school started. However, since construction for IFN Expansion is starting very soon, we plan to make alternate arrangements for students during recess by using outdoor areas permissible to be used as well as indoor activities for students.
MORNING ASSEMBLY (Story time with Imam Azfar): Our morning Assembly on 11/3 was led by Br Imam Azfar. It is such a delight to have Imam Azfar lead our morning assemblies once a month (usually first Sunday of every month). Students love to connect with Br Imam Azfar and always ask so many good questions Ma Sha Allah. Last Sunday, Imam Azfar read a story book ("Hamza attends a Janaza" by Shabana Hussain) and answered many great questions from our students who were very inquisitive to learn more from Imam Azfar.
At the end of the assembly, students enjoyed looking at the slideshow of pictures from our Fall Fun with S'more Event on 10/20/24.

Do you have an anxious child? Hilary Davis of Touchstone Therapy in Vernon Hills presented a virtual learning session around the evidence-based 'SPACE' Program for parenting children with anxiety. Click here to watch the recording!
When a child does not outgrow the fears and worries that are typical in young children, or when there are so many fears and worries that they interfere with school, home, or play activities, the child may be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Anxiety is not one disorder but rather a category of conditions. Anxiety may present as fear or worry but can also make children irritable and angry. Anxiety symptoms can also include trouble sleeping, as well as physical symptoms like fatigue, headaches, or stomachaches. Some anxious children keep their worries to themselves and, thus, the symptoms can be missed. (CDC.gov)

Opportunities for Parent Involvement
Parent involvement is essential for students development, leads to increased student achievement and success and offers many benefits. We highly encourage our parents to get involved at IFN Sunday School which is why we are offering several opportunities for parent involvement this year. These include the following:
1. Join Parent Support Group (PSG) by completing this form
2. Become a Teaching Assistant
3. Become a Lunch/Recess Supervisor
4. Lead a Morning Assembly at Sunday School
5. Be a Substitute Teacher or TA
