North Syracuse Central School District's Electronic News
April 19, 2024
Hello North Syracuse Central School District parents, guardians, teachers, and staff,
It gives me great pleasure to share some good news about a recent ceremony honoring outstanding students from our district.
On Tuesday, April 16, the Onondaga-Cortland-Madison Board of Cooperative Educational Services (OCM BOCES) inducted students from schools across Central New York into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). Twenty-three (23) students from the North Syracuse Central School District were among those inducted. These students received this honor through their exceptional work in Career & Technical Education and New Vision programs at the OCM BOCES Thompson Road Campus.
To qualify for induction into the NTHS, students must have maintained a grade-point average of 85 or higher, had 12 or fewer absences, and received a teacher recommendation. Additionally, they demonstrated outstanding attributes including respect, honesty, skill, responsibility, leadership, service, and citizenship. The ceremony, at Onondaga Community College, was a testament to their dedication and achievements. As a symbol of their accomplishment, each inductee received special tassels to wear on their graduation caps in June. Congratulations to our students.
As we approach the upcoming Spring break, I encourage everyone to take this time to rejuvenate and reconnect with loved ones. Rest, relaxation, and quality family time are essential for maintaining a healthy balance in our lives.
I am very proud of our students' achievements and grateful for the unwavering support of our entire school community. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence and make a positive difference in the lives of our students. Wishing you all a wonderful Spring break filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories.
Warm regards,
Daniel D. Bowles, Superintendent of Schools

Schools show ongoing support for Griffin's Guardians through Change for Hope
North Syracuse Central School District schools are proud supporters of Griffin's Guardians and have taken part in the organization's annual Change for Hope Campaign for many years. For 2024, schools across Central New York came together to raise more than $28,000 for the cause to raise awareness in pediatric cancer and to teach students compassion.
Cicero Elementary School teacher Cathy Seichen joined Allison Joyce from the Liverpool Central School District, to present a check to the organization on behalf of all CNY schools. North Syracuse schools alone this year raised almost $8,000! Since the inception of Change for Hope campaign, North Syracuse Central School District Schools have raised a grand total of $30,039.23 for Griffin's Guardians.
