The eLeader
The official digital newsletter of La Porte ISD
Greetings, La Porte ISD Family. Today is a great day to be a Bulldog!
With the holiday weekend coming to a close, I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome back to all our students, teachers, staff, and families. Your dedication and commitment to education are truly inspiring, and I am excited to see the enthusiasm and energy you bring back to our school community.
As we resume our academic journey, let's carry forward the joy and positivity of the season. Together, let's make the most of every opportunity for learning, growth, and collaboration, as we strive towards our shared goals and aspirations.
I am grateful to all of you for helping us continue our legacy of excellence.
Superintendent Shout-outs
- Shout-out to the Jennie Reid Elementary EarlyAct Club. In a classic act of placing service above self, our Jennie Reid EarlyAct Club spent a recent Saturday morning cleaning up Bay Area Park as part of the area-wide Trash Bash event.
- Congratulations to our La Porte High School Non-Varsity Sub Choir for earning Sweepstakes, which is the highest honor in UIL competition. Our La Porte High School Bands will compete this week for the honor; the One-Act Play cast and crew will perform this week in the Bi-District contest. Good luck and break a leg!
- Finally, HEB judges came to our district this past week to observe us as an HEB Excellence in Education Awards finalist. I am so proud of the students who represented us—from the students at La Porte High School and Lomax Jr. High who took the panel on campus tours, to our wonderful Culinary Arts students who served lunch to the panel. I am also very thankful to the group of students, teachers, parents, principals, board members and community members who represented our district during the visit. La Porte ISD truly exemplifies excellence!
Thank you for all that you do. I hope you have a great week!
With La Porte pride,
Walter Jackson, Ed.D.

On March 29, 2024, the progress at Bulldog Stadium was evident, with the steel structure mostly in place. In the foreground, freshly poured concrete marks the newly added parking and driveway, completed during the last week of March. Just above, the outline of the Bulldog Development Center is visible, set to accommodate boys' and girls' athletic facilities on the ground level, with a meeting and professional development space on the second floor.
