Half-Time Highlight: Principal Benadi is getting DUCT TAPED to the wall at Suffern High School! Yes, you read that right! Come cheer it on, snap a pic, and be part of the fun!
Every dollar raised supports amazing cultural arts programs and school events for the 2025–2026 school year.
Let’s come together to make next year unforgettable for our students!

When: Tomorrow Night at 7 pm
Why: Fun, laughter, and making a difference for our schools!
Bring your friends, your school spirit, and your best duct tape jokes—we’ll see you there!
Spring Picture Day is Tomorrow!
Get ready to dress to impress! Spring Picture Day is happening tomorrow, and we can’t wait to see everyone looking their best. Wear your favorite outfit and bring your best smile!
See the schedule for your child’s class time. Please make sure your child arrives on time and is photo-ready. Let’s make some great memories!
Meal Code Reminder
Each student has a unique 4-digit meal code that they’ll use every time they go through the lunch or breakfast line. This code remains the same year after year, so once it’s memorized, they’re all set!
To help your child feel confident and keep the line moving smoothly, please practice the code with them at home. Encourage them to enter it just like they will at school—using a keypad like the one shown.
Thanks for helping us build independence and routine during mealtimes!
Celebrating Arbor Day with the Rotary Club
Today, our second graders had a special visit from members of the Rotary Club, who shared the meaning and importance of Arbor Day. As part of the celebration, students gathered outside to watch a lilac bush being planted on our school grounds—a lasting symbol of growth and care for the environment.
Each student also received their very own Pitch Pine seedling to take home, generously gifted by the Rotary Club. We encourage families to plant the seedlings as soon as possible—either in the ground or in a large pot—using the care instructions provided.
This meaningful experience gives students a chance to connect with nature, learn about sustainability, and take pride in nurturing something that will grow along with them.

Poem in a Pocket Day!
On April 23rd, we celebrated Poem in a Pocket Day—a joyful event that brought poetry to life throughout our school! Each student received a paper pocket and was encouraged to fill it with a poem. They could write their own, copy a favorite, or choose one from the special poetry display on the school bulletin board.
Throughout the day, students shared their poems by reading them aloud to any adult they passed. Each time they shared a poem, they earned a raffle ticket—making poetry not only meaningful, but fun and interactive!
A big thank you to Ms. Marsh, our amazing school library clerk, for organizing this creative and inspiring event!
Puppy Pals Have Arrived!
This week, Mrs. Preiss introduced Puppy Pals to the classroom—and they were a big hit! Each student was excited to meet their new stuffed animal reading buddy and take part in this fun literacy initiative.
To kick things off, students signed a special Puppy Pal Promise, showing their commitment to caring for and reading to their furry friends. They’ve already started thinking of creative names for their pals and have been cozying up with a book to read to them during quiet time. They even have a Puppy Pal Parking Lot in the classroom, where their new pals can “rest” when not in use.
Safety Drills
The staff and students at R.P. Connor Elementary School will be participating in fire and lockdown drills next week. The purpose of the drills is to prepare our students and staff for any emergency that may occur where it may be necessary for us to evacuate or hold in place.
In preparation for the drills, staff will tell students that we are practicing being safe. Staff members will also inform students that during the drill an announcement will be made prompting everyone to follow our school drill procedures, and that this is simply a practice.
Safety is our top priority at R.P. Connor Elementary school. We conduct drills because we want students and staff members to feel safe and develop an awareness of their roles in these various scenarios.
