Libraries STILL Needed for KRARI Kickoff!
Please consider participating in the May 13th kickoff event at the State House. The event is scheduled for 2pm-3pm and set-up is 1pm-1:30pm. It's a great opportunity to promote your library and summer reading program to families from all over the state. In the past libraries have had tables with activities related to the summer reading theme or the KRARI book. Your activity may be a craft, a STEM demo, or an interactive exhibit. Check out photos from last year's event and let us know if you'd like to participate.

Solar Eclipse Glasses and Education Kit - Apply Before May 1st
On August 21, 2017, a total eclipse of the sun will be visible across parts of the US for the first time since 1918; here in the northeast, we will only experience a partial eclipse, though this is also an interesting event. The Chief Officers of State Library Agencies (COSLA) are partnering with the Space Science Institute’s National Center for Interactive Learning and other partners to promote activities around the event. The attached flyer describes an opportunity for public libraries to receive free eclipse glasses and an Eclipse Education Kit.
For more information and to apply for the free glasses and kit, see http://www.starnetlibraries.org/2017eclipse. There is also an interactive map of the nearly 2,000 libraries who are participating in this event already: http://www.starnetlibraries.org/2017eclipse/registered-libraries-map/
