English Village Family Edition

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPALS:
Greetings, EV Families!
We hope that you all had a great weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers and mother figures out there! We hope that you all felt the love and were spoiled and taken care of this past weekend and always.
You all are truly the backbone of everything! Mothers are known for being selfless and always taking care of others, putting others before themselves while wearing many hats.
So…we celebrate and honor you all! You are all truly an inspiration and a treasure. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you do for everyone on a regular basis! Take care and give yourself a pat on the back. It is well-deserved!
Sincerely,
Jason Lewis
Rosa Bellone

Importat Calendar Update
Important End-of-Year Schedule Update for PreK–8 Families The following end-of-year schedule changes for PreK–8 schools were approved by the Board of Education on May 6 and reflect the fact that the district did not use all of its allotted emergency closure (snow) days this year:
Monday, June 23: This will now be the last full day of school for all PreK–8 students, and the final day for PM pre-kindergarten students. (Originally, the last full day was scheduled for Wednesday, June 25.)
Tuesday, June 24: This will be a half-day for all PreK–8 students. AM and full-day PreK students will attend in the morning only. (Originally, the half-day was scheduled for Thursday, June 26.)
Because the program follows the school calendar, the last day of KidsCare for the school year will be Tuesday, June 24. Summer programming begins July 7.
Wednesday, June 25 – Friday, June 27: There will be no school for PreK-8 students. These days will be used for teacher professional learning and planning.
Please note: There is no change to the high school calendar.
June 16 remains the last instructional day for high school students.
From June 17–25, students in grades 9–12 will attend by exam only. Students will receive an exam schedule so they know when to attend based on their course enrollment.
Thank you for adjusting your family’s calendar and routines accordingly. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school.
Let's Talk Tech: A Virtual, Open Discussion for Parents and Guardians is an upcoming virtual event for GCSD parents and guardians of K-12 students.
