No Lessons Monday or Friday this week

There will be no lessons on Monday due to the teacher in-service. I will be gone on Friday, so we won't have lessons. However, I have adjusted the schedule for our Monday and Friday lesson students so we can continue working. Please check the "Lesson Changes" section if your child has their lesson usually on those days.

Noah and Ethan have selected their solos. Meg and Dash are looking at solos and will select their solo next week. We'll plan to start working on those with Mrs. Kaldahl at the end of the month or the first week of February - so make sure you are practicing your solos like the festival is "next week."

Practice Tip:

Practice like you perform. After you have worked on your songs, challenge yourself to "perform it" - without stopping if you make a mistake. Play your best parts for your parents. If you know you are going to perform something, you'll work harder on it.

In addition to teaching private music lessons at IGLLS, I am a bus driver for the Spencer Schools, serve as chair of the Spencer ADA Council, direct the choir at Christ the King Lutheran and am a part-time janitor at Spencer Middle School. In my free time I enjoy reading, walking, biking, cooking and keeping up with my siblings Sue in Loveland, CO and David in Forest City.

My parents were both music educators. My brother and sister-in-law are band directors in Forest City, IA. My grandfathers were both ministers in the Presbyterian and Methodist churches.

Music has always been a part of my life and its fun to share this gift with our young people at IGLLS so they can add their praises to our Loving Lord in song.
