Dear SMS families,

I hope you are enjoying your summer, and it is a relaxing one for you and your family. It's hard to believe the 24-25 school year is just a month away. Time sure flies! I am excited to begin another year here at St. Michael's. I can't wait to see you and your children in September. It has been too quiet during the summer without your children here.

I will use this newsletter format during the school year to communicate with you weekly for announcements, calendar updates and other important information. During the school year, the newsletter will go out every Monday morning with information for the upcoming week.

The office will be closed August 5th- to the 9th and reopen on August 12th. You should have received your letters from your teacher this week. If you have not, expect them in the next few days.

Don't forget that Preschoolers are wearing a uniform this year. The PK uniform is our gym uniform (green shorts/sweats and a grey T shirt)

I am excited to announce some grade changes for our faculty and introduce you to some of our new teachers:

Ms. Jennifer Goodman will be leaving 5th grade and joining the Middle School as 7th grade homeroom and Religion teacher. She is excited to work with the middle school and has some great new ideas for Religion.

Mrs. Jessica Calado is a longtime St. Michael's Parent. She is delighted to now join us in a different capacity, as our PK4 teacher. She is looking forward to bringing her experience with PK and her love of learning to our PK4 class.

Mr. Edward Midgley is joining us as the 2nd grade teacher. He has worked with 2nd and 3rd graders and is looking forward to meeting your children and joining the St. Michael's faculty. He has been hard at work in his new classroom for much of July getting it ready for his new second graders.

Ms. Elena Espinosa is thrilled to be one of our new 4th grade teachers. She brings over 20 years of education experience, having worked as a Kindergarten teacher, a Preschool teacher and most recently a 3rd grade teacher.

Ms. Nicole Grant will be joining us as the other 4th grade teacher. She has worked with all ages and especially loves the Arts. She is ecstatic about joining the St. Michael's faculty.

Mr. Miguel Ramos is excited to join our Middle School as the 7B homeroom and Science teacher. He is looking forward to bringing his many years of educational experience in high school and middle school. He has been hard at work cleaning out the Science lab and planning for the year.

Mr. Michael Onwuchekwa will be our 8b homeroom teacher and Middle School Math teacher. He is proud to share his name with our school and brings with him many years of experience teaching all ages, including college.

I am in the final stages of hiring an advanced math teacher and am currently interviewing for a Music and Art teacher. I will keep you updated on this process.

• cleaning and painting stairwells
• moving refrigerator from gym to office

Please make sure to regularly check the school calendar located on the updated school website. You can also subscribe to it there as well. I will always keep the website calendar up to date.

August 26th- PK/Kindergarten orientation -9:00am

August 27th- First faculty meeting at- 9:00 am

September 3rd- First day of school for grades 1st-8th, Half Day

September4th- First day of school for grades kindergarten, Half Day

September 9th- First day of school for Prek/ First day of before and after care
