Great Start to the School Year
The hallways are busy, classrooms alive with inquiry and active learning, and the energy from students and staff has contributed to an awesome start to the 2024 - 2025 school year! Students are successfully navigating their schedules and becoming more familiar with new routines and procedures. We look forward to building relationships and connections with your child and working with them inside and outside of the classroom.
To start the new school year, the CDMS community headed to the Gym on Friday, September 6th to participate in the Colt Kick Off. In true pep-rally style, we introduced students to the entire CDMS staff, played “minute-to-win-it” games to promote the Battle of the Classes, and took the opportunity to engage students in the shaping of their school environment and the role they play in creating a culture of respect and support. The event was a fun celebration….uplifting music, spirited cheers, and a lot of smiling faces! As we move forward into this academic year, we hope the spirit and energy from the Colts Kick Off will continue to resonate throughout our school. Our goal is to harness this momentum and encourage our students to engage fully in their studies, embrace new challenges, and support one another in all their endeavors.
Patriot Day
Cedar Drive came together for a special flag salute to remember and honor the lives lost during the tragic events of September 11, 2001. We also showed our gratitude and appreciation to all the individuals who have and continue to dedicate their lives to service here in Colts Neck. We were grateful to have members of the Colts Neck Police Department, Fire Department, Colts Neck Security Team, and First Aid Squad join in the ceremony.
Back to School Night
Please join us on Thursday, September 26th at 6 p.m. for Cedar Drive Back to School Night. Back to School Night is a special event that initiates the home-school partnership which is key when working together to support our students. Parking is always a challenge on this night, so please consider carpooling; we will have additional parking on the front lawn adjacent to Cedar Drive and we will have police presence along with Colts Neck personnel assisting with traffic. One important piece is to know your child’s homeroom – you will report to homeroom first at 6 p.m. to receive updates and highlights of the first few weeks courtesy of Ms. Pav and the Studio 29 crew!
Don't forget to tune in daily for our schools most up-to-date schedule regarding after school activities, clubs and sports information.
7th Grade Stokes Trip
On October 16th - 18th, 7th grade students and staff will journey to Stokes State Forest for a three-day, two-night outdoor adventure. Please return all required paperwork for the Stokes trip so we can finalize all logistics and planning over the next few weeks. We would like to thank all the parents/guardians for arranging time from their personal and professional lives to join us on this trip – we could not create this unique experience without your help!
