PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
What a fantastic week! We had such a great time during our Glow Run for all students. Students demonstrated amazing kindness and perseverance throughout their runs. Please read information below to find out how much money we have raised to support Iowa Elementary students. I cannot thank our community enough for their generosity and support, and we're already looking forward to next year's Glow Run!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. If you have any questions or concerns, please free to reach out to Mr. Smith by email (jbsmith@aurorak12.org) or by phone at 303-751-3660.
Sincerely,
Jason Smith

OCTOBER COUNT - WE NEED ALL STUDENTS HERE!
October is an important month for public schools. Did you know that funding for our school in the 2025-2026 school year is based on our enrollment during the month of October. More specifically, the first week of October, and even moreso on October 1. It is incredibly important that all of our students come to school on October 1, and everyday after that, to ensure we have the appropriate funding for next school year. To incentivize students to be at school on October 1, we are having a special Spirit Day for students (please see the flyer below). Please help us by ensuring your child is at school, not only on October 1, but each and every day.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS - GLOW RUN WRAP UP
Our Boosterthon Glow Run was a HUGE SUCCESS! From what we could see, all of our students had a great time during the Glow Run and helped to raise an incredible amount of money for Iowa Elementary students. Our current fundraising total is at $12,072!!! We will still be accepting donations through the end of next week. Due to our goal of $10,000 being reached, this means Mr. Smith will be getting slimed and we are hoping to have this happen next week.
Thank you to all of our families, staff members, friends, relatives, etc. who donated to our fundraiser. We could not have done this without you. Aside from the money that has been donated, all of the decorations for the Glow Run were donated by community members as well. THANK YOU to the entire Iowa Elementary community!
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS ARE COMING
If you remember, a portion of the money raised from our Glow Run is going directly to providing after school club opportunities for our students. More information about After School Clubs will be coming soon, but as a sneak peek, here are some of the clubs we will be presenting as an opportunity for our students:
- Art Club
- Book Club
- Bracelet Buddies
- Chess Club
- Cubs/Bears on the Run
- Japanime
- Soccer Club
- And More!!!
All clubs will be led by Iowa Elementary staff members and again, more information will be coming out soon! We are hoping to start clubs some time in October.

LUNCH APPLICATION (EVERYONE PLEASE COMPLETE)
During this school year, Iowa Elementary received Title I funding because over 75% of our students qualified for Free and Reduced Lunch. Even though all students eat free, the form linked below still needs to be completed to determine if we will receive Title I funding. Currently, only 78% of our families have completed the application and of those who have completed the form, only 57% of our students qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch. We need your help by please completing the form to support Iowa Elementary.
If you have not done so already, we are asking everyone to complete a free and reduced lunch application form. Please complete the form, even if you don't believe it applies to your family. Schools receive funding based on our free and reduced lunch count. Every application completed will benefit Iowa Elementary. Please click on the link below to complete the form. If you need support completing the form, please contact our main office.
If a family needs help completing the application, please contact Allison Quinn or Isela Cortes in the main office, and they can assist.
