NEWS FROM THE PANTHER DEN
WEEK 19 EDITION
WEEK 19 REFLECTION
As we head into the extended weekend, Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Dr. King's question "What are you doing for others?" continues to challenge us to reflect on our role in fostering community, equity and compassion. His words serve as a reminder that life's true measure is found in the impact we have on others and the contributions we make toward the greater good.
In today’s world, where challenges can often seem overwhelming, Dr. King’s call to action reminds us that meaningful change begins with small, intentional acts of kindness and service. Whether it’s lending a hand to a peer, showing appreciation to a teacher or colleague, volunteering for a cause, or supporting an initiative, each of us has the power to make a positive impact.
At PTHS, we emphasize the values of empathy, collaboration, and service. As we move forward together, let us challenge ourselves to live out these values by asking, What can I do to uplift and support others? By doing so, we honor Dr. King’s vision and contribute to a community that thrives on connection, care and support. Together, we can create a legacy of service and compassion that will inspire future generations of Golden Panthers so that in the years to come, PTHS can continue to be a beacon of hope for those inside and outside these hallowed halls. #nocknation

PROFILE OF A GRADUATE SURVEY
Our district is engaged in a Portrait of a Graduate project that involves input from staff, alumni, families, community members and students. We aim to survey students in Grades 5-12 during the week of February 3, 2025 to get their impressions of their educational experience and what the district can be doing, and will share the data internally with our committee. The principals will have hard copies of the student survey available for review in the main office of each building; parents who would like to do so should contact the principal to arrange a time to meet. The content of the surveys is benign and focused exclusively on learning dispositions, but parents can request not to have their children participate in the survey by notifying the principal. Otherwise, we appreciate the opportunity to learn more about how we can create the best possible school experience for our students and their families.
