Summer time!!
Worship Services on Saturdays @6 pm and Sundays @10 am. ALL ARE WELCOME!
Every Second Saturday during summer, Coraopolis has a festival with music, vendors, kid's activities and more! See us there 11-3. Next one is July 13!
We are attempting a water day once a week all summer! Messages will be sent through the app. Water days require a swimsuit or extra clothes for water play, towel, and lunch requiring no heat up. We will eat and play outside on those days. We should already have sunscreen for each child.
We will be having a movie day every Friday during summer as well!
Mary and Lilly are going to Harrisburg to advocate for access to childcare for families, affordable childcare for families and an increase in teachers' compensation!
We will be closed July 4th & 5th!
Registering for Fall Preschool!!
We are still registering for Fall Preschool. Please tell your friends with three- and four-year-olds about us! We would love to have them!
Busy Days at PDS!
Thank you so much!!
Thank you for purchasing car washes! We made $90!
Thank you for donating to the walk!
Thank you for purchasing from our wish list!
Thank you for purchasing supplies on our summer list!
Thank you for expressions of appreciation!
We really could not continue without all the support!
Garden Update!
We have a plot behind the church at the Community Graden. The food grown here is distributed through the Coraopolis Food Pantry that serves hundreds of families every two weeks! This year we are growing corn. It is well on its way. As Miss Hannah said, "Knee high by the fourth of July!"
There was a library pick up for summer reading that told us to go around and view the memorial banners posted on the light posts in Cory. While doing that we stopped by the memorial at the VFW.
We talked about the branches of the military and what different things on the banner mean.
I think their favorite part was getting the big trucks on the road to honk at us!
Teacher Spotlight! Miss Nikki- Corner Room
This month our teacher spotlight is Miss Nikki!
"I am full of art, music and fun! I have 2 cats and a bearded dragon at home. I have worked with kids for well over 10 years! Every day is a new adventure, and I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!"
Harrisburg Trip!
Miss Mary and Miss Lilly went by bus to the state capital on June 25th as part of the Early Childhood Education Advocacy Fellowship that Miss Mary is a part of this year. We left Pittsburgh at 5 am! We were traveling with nineteen other advocates. We were able to meet with House Representative Anita Kulik and Senator Devlin Robinson. Both heard our concerns for change in childcare including support for a recruitment and retention plan for childcare and equity for access to quality childcare. Childcare cannot continue as it is with staff shortages and being unaffordable for families.
Rep Kulik would like to visit PDS, so we are working on arranging that. As always, the trip was long but educational and hopeful. In total the group met with twenty legislators, reminding them that the childcare industry needs support in the budget!
A favor to ask
We are working on our website. Any families that could leave us a google review or email Mary directly would be such a help! We would like to add a testimonials section to our website. Thank you!!
