September Happenings
Welcome Back Families!
The Collaborative Education Center is growing so that we can provide more access to services for our families. We will be partnering with experts in the following fields: speech therapy, behavioral therapy (ABA), and counseling. Our center families will have direct access to these providers for consult visits and services.
In addition, we have been selected as a community partner in STEM education by the CT Science Center. Watch for us at CT Science Center event days and also in their new STEM HUB of community resources. Our philosophy of providing an inquiry based learning environment where children learn and play through the lens of engineering has set us apart.
Please take note of our growing list of opportunities which include new classes, STEM Saturdays and STEM birthday party packages.
As we welcome students in September, our reception area will be located to the left after you enter the exterior doors. We will be expanding our footprint to utilize additional spaces on the first floor of the building.
We can’t wait to welcome students for our second year! We are proud of our focus on developing and supporting the learning of students through our enrichment classes and supportive tutoring sessions. This year we look forward to continuing our commitment to connect, inspire, and watch our students succeed during their time with us.
With gratitude,
Natalie Hubert

What We Offer
Tutoring in Math and Literacy
Every child is different; why would we expect them to learn the same way?
We use each child’s strengths to support them in areas where they need additional help. Every child wants to learn; their curiosity is natural. We connect with them first to ensure their success. Our plans are personalized based on each child’s unique needs.
Our teachers are certified, with over 20 years of experience, a strong background in the science of reading, Fundations Phonics program, and Orton Gillingham approach, with master’s degrees in Special Education and Reading Instruction.
STEM Enrichment Classes
We offer STEM classes for children's ages 5 - 12. Our classes are designed to engage children in hands-on learning and play-based exploration while solving design challenges using the steps of the engineering design process. We find that our unique approach to learning and supporting child development creates a positive learning environment where children want to come back again and again. Classes are designed for children in grades K-2 and grades 3-5. Taught by certified teachers.
Spanish Interactive Story Time
Spanish modules are always interactive and fun! Through repetition with games, activities, storytime, and crafts, children are introduced to new vocabulary each week. Memory games, flashcards, song games, the mystery box, and charades are just some of the activities our students enjoy every week. Taught by a native Spanish speaker.
Drop In Play Dates K-2 - Storytime and STEM
Storytime and STEM is designed to help children: foster new friendships, develop the capacity to solve problems and engage in hands-on activities that strengthen critical thinking skills. (Sessions include storytime, group or individual building projects using playdough, legos, or maker space materials). Taught by certified teachers.
Fairy Tales Around the World
This engaging literacy class will expose children to the fairy tale genre as they compare and contrast different versions of common fairy tales. Children will complete thematic projects and rewrite their own fairy tales. Taught by certified teachers.
