2023-2024 Academic Calendar
Students will attend school Tuesday - Friday
The Gainesville ISD School Board approved the 4-day Instructional week academic calendar at the February Board meeting. Multiple surveys have been distributed and included two staff surveys (one in the Fall and one in January), a parent survey, and a survey for GIS, GJH, and GHS students.
The survey results came back with 59% of parents, 79% of staff, and 69% of students for a 4-day instructional week. The survey results are below. Visit our website for additional details on the calendar planning process >>> https://www.gainesvilleisd.org/Page/8234
School leadership expects the 4-day week to increase student achievement with more opportunities for intervention and to also help with the recruitment and retention of qualified teachers.
