COOKING AND BAKING
FOCACCIA MADE EASY
Golden brown and soft and chewy, focaccia is a crowd pleaser, but pizza is close to our hearts too! Learn the ins & outs of these Italian delights so you can impress your friends at your next gathering. Participants will take home a loaf of focaccia to bake the following day plus recipes for Summer flavored focaccia and delicious dips!
Instructed by Certified Holistic Nutritionist Samantha Romanowski.

QUICK AND EASY: BUNS AND ROLLS
Love warm dinner rolls, but think you don't have time to bake? This class will teach you a quick recipe for soft, tender dinner rolls that you can make easily in a couple of hours. Plus, it's "big batch" which means you can bake what you need and freeze the rest. We'll also cover different styles of rolls, flavors, and toppings. Participants will go home with a packet of recipes and 6 rolls baked in class!

Create a sharp pointed star design using paper and scraps of fabric sewn by machine. In the first class learn the basic technique. In class weeks 2-4 create a star design pillow or wall hanging.

FUNDAMENTALS OF PAINTING: OILS & ACRYLICS WITH LOUISA MOUTOS

STAINED GLASS WITH MIKAYLA MOORE
STAINED GLASS FOR BEGINNERS
Join us for an opportunity to create your very own stained glass Suncatcher! In this 3 week workshop, you will learn the copper foil method of stained glass as you cut, grind, foil and solder your creation. There will be a variety of beginner friendly patterns for you to choose from.
No experience is required, however a certain amount of hand strength is required to cut glass. (If you have any concerns, please contact us) Booklet summarizing what you learned, and how to take care of your Suncatcher is provided.

STAINED GLASS - CONTINUING YOUR CRAFT
Are you ready to take your stained glass skills to the next level? This class is perfect for those who have completed the beginner workshop and are eager to create their next stained glass project! Whether you want to bring your own design or choose from a variety of patterns available, this class will give you the freedom to explore and refine your techniques.
In this session, you'll have access to all of the tools and materials you need. Work at your own pace while receiving personalized guidance and support. This is a great opportunity to focus on perfecting your skills and bringing your creative visions to life!

METEOROLOGY SERIES
Learn about our different weather patterns in 4 separate classes. Each class is focused on a specific weather pattern. Class is instructed by Portland Meteorologist and CCC Faculty member in the Fire Science Dept, John Saltenberger.

JET STREAMS
This lesson will describe key features of the multiple jet streams in the upper atmosphere. The global scale driving mechanisms of jet streams will be identified and discussed as well as their formation, movement and evolution. Emphasis will be placed on how jet streams affect weather patterns around the globe with emphasis on the Pacific Northwest.

WESTERN WIND PATTERNS
This lesson will describe common large scale atmospheric pressure systems and their resulting general wind patterns over the western part of North America. Wind influence on weather patterns and terrain interactions will be identified and described. Critical wind patterns of the west coast will be identified and described with examples.

QUANTIFYING ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE
This lesson will introduce several methods for quantifying atmospheric moisture such as dew point, relative humidity, vapor pressure, and precipitable water. Emphasis will be made on comparing and contrasting the various strengths of these different methods. Examples of how they are used in daily weather forecasting will be provided.

BASICS OF ATMOSPHERIC STABILITY
This lesson will describe key elements of the vertical structure of the atmosphere. The basic physics of atmospheric stability, vertical motion, and temperature lapse rate will be explained. Emphasis will be placed on how day to day fluctuations of the temperature lapse rate can cause dramatic changes in cloud cover, visibility, moisture and relative humidity, winds, and severe storm risk.

What is your refund policy?
- For ongoing and series classes, refunds will be given in full up to the second class. (Lab and supply Fees will still be charged if not cancelled one week prior to class starting) After the second class, no refunds will be given.
- For one time classes cancellations must be received 48 hours in advance for a full refund. (Lab and supply Fees will still be charged if not cancelled one week prior to class starting). No refunds the night of class.
- Refunds for camps must be requested at least one week before camp begins.
- Classes cancelled by the Community School due to low enrollment will automatically entitle a student to a full refund. Classes cancelled due to weather are not refunded. We will try our best to reschedule.

If you have special needs or a disability that require accommodations in order for you to attend or participate in a school meeting or event, please contact the Office of Special Services at (503) 655-2777 at least 48 hours in advance.

Due to the nature of community school classes being held evenings, weekends, etc., instructors are provided with student names and phone numbers for emergency.
