Principal's Message
Happy Sunday!
I Hope Your Memorial Day is Meaningful
As you know, Memorial Day is when we remember and honor all those U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the US Armed Forces. I am thankful to the many women and men (from all services) that have helped to keep this country free! To those of you who are currently in the Armed Forces--THANK YOU for your service and THANK YOU all the sacrifices you make (on a daily basis!) for our country!!
School Year Drawing to a Close
As we are in the middle of a three-day weekend, I hope all students are taking advantage of this extra time to get things done. The school year is almost over! I know I've been talking a lot about seniors in these newsletters, but all of our students need to take advantage of the time remaining, so that they can start their next school year with all the possible credits available to them! I know that everybody (including the adults!) start getting tired here at the end...but we're almost done!! I encourage all of our students to give the last weeks their best shot and finish strong!
For Seniors...Here's what they must do to participate in the graduation ceremony:
1) Complete all the required courses and earn the necessary 220 credits
2) Complete the 20 hours of community service
3) Complete the FAFSA or the FAFSA Opt-out
If you have questions or concerns about whether your senior is ready for graduation, please reach out to your student's supervising teacher and the counselor, Mr. Blanchfield.
Finally, please read below about the rules for Graduates wearing "lei's, stoles, cords" and decorating or altering the cap/gown, etc. at the graduation ceremony on June 7th. We don't want you or your graduate to have any surprises about the expectations--so that's why we're making sure we publicize all the guidelines as early (and as often) as possible. : )
Thanks for reading! We want these final weeks to go smoothly so please reach out if you need any help or have any questions!
Sincerely,
David Schlottman
Principal
