Hastings High School
We have some great things planned for you
Principal Corner
Dear Hastings High School Families:
Welcome to Hastings High School main campus. We are looking forward to having you as a part of our Bear Family. We hope that you will catch that Fighting Bear spirit and wear your black and gold proudly.
High School is a time of excitement and expectations. It is when young people begin to discover who they are, and more importantly, who they can become. Our expectation is that each student who enters Hastings on August 12th will graduate on time – as the Class of 2025/2026/2027! The entire Hastings staff is ready to assist you, in any way, to make this a reality. By working together and getting connected, we can and we will achieve the goal of student success.
Statistics have shown that the more involved parents are in school, the better their children perform. With this understanding of how important parental involvement is for student success, we ask for your help in making sure that you and your student make an effort to get connected to the high school experience and community. We want to see you at games and events supporting our Hastings community.
Having said this, Bears Back to School is on August 10th from 9:00 - 10:30AM. This is a great opportunity for parents and students to gain valuable information about clubs and organizations, bell schedules, absences, and how they might affect graduation, dress code, electronic device policies, and volunteer opportunities for parents. It is also a chance to explore the campus and meet your child's Administrator and Counselor. Students will receive their schedule and have an opportunity to tour the campus. This event kicks off in the north gym with "Meet the Bears", a community pep-rally.
The first day of school for the school year is Monday, August 12th. School hours are from 7:10AM to 2:35PM; however, we recommend arriving to school by 7:00AM. Alief ISD will continue to have an early dismissal at 1:35PM on Wednesdays to give our staff the opportunity to come together and plan for student success.
At Hastings High School, we dress for success. To help you plan for success, a copy of the Alief ISD Standards for Dress and Grooming has been included with this letter. Please take time to read the detailed information regarding the Alief ISD Dress Code. In order to make a great first impression, let’s make sure all students are in compliance with the Alief dress code expectations on the first day of school. Thank you for your attention to this.
Come out and join us for “Meet the Bears,” a community pep-rally to kick off our many fall sports on August 10th starting at 9:00AM. Open House/Parent Night will be held on the evening of September 26, 2024 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM. Come join us for both events!
Please contact the campus at 281-988-3110 or visit our website at https://www.aliefisd.net/hastings anytime you have a question or need assistance.
Enjoy the rest of your summer. We look forward to working with each and every one of you throughout the upcoming school year.

NEW Backpack policy
As we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and staff, we are strongly encouraging the use of clear or mesh backpacks for the upcoming school year. We believe clear or mesh backpacks will help us limit safety issues and incidents on our campus. By choosing clear or mesh backpacks, you can assist us in creating a safer environment where all students can focus on learning.Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter.
