Honor Choir Update

16 ACF Singers attended the 2024 SCMEA Region Choir Clinic at Newberry College on Tuesday, October 22. Please see photo. Not pictured: Charlie Wade.

Congratulations to the 14 ACF singers who were accepted into the 2025 SC ACDA Honor Choir. These singers will travel to Francis Marion University in January 2025 to represent AC Flora at the state ACDA conference. Please see poster below.

Fall Athletics Update

Congratulations to the boys volleyball team who defeated Waccamaw last night in the first round of the state playoffs 3-1. The win advances them to second round this Saturday, November 2, at home at 2:30 p.m. against Travelers Rest.

The girls varsity volleyball team plays at home TONIGHT Thursday, October 31, at 6 p.m. in the first round of the state playoffs against Westside.

The girls varsity tennis team plays at home TONIGHT Thursday, October 31, at 5 p.m. in the first round of the state playoffs against Travelers Rest.

Flora Gives- Thanksgiving Meal Boxes

Flora Gives is AC Flora’s school-wide initiative to support our community throughout the year. Our winter projects include Thanksgiving Meal Boxes and Families Helping Families. Our goal this year is to provide a minimum of 40 Flora families with the Thanksgiving they deserve and sponsor a minimum of 40 Flora-zoned families by providing gifts for the holidays. We encourage all teachers, students, parents, and community members to participate in Flora Gives. Please pick up a contract from the school’s Main Office or click below to participate. Thank you for your support!

Heyward Tour Day for AC Flora High School

Heyward Career Center is offering students interested in registering for any programs for the 2025-2026 School Year the opportunity to travel to the Heyward Career Center with AC Flora High School and tour the facility to learn more about the programs they have to offer. All rising 10th and rising 11th grade students who are NOT CURRENTLY ENROLLED in a Heyward Career Center program can sign-up to participate in this tour on November 12th.

Please click here if you would like to attend and indicate what program you may be interested in for the upcoming school year. All responses need to be entered by TOMORROW, November 1, 2024 at noon. Students must respond using their school issued laptops and school accounts.

Teacher Cadets at Satchel Ford Elementary

The Teacher Cadets class visited Satchel Ford on Monday to observe elementary school teachers at work.

IB Guest Speaker

To enhance their study of the graphic novel Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi in IB English Literature, the IB juniors heard from guest speaker, Mr. Edmond Melkomian, on Thursday, October 24. Mr. Melkomian spoke about his experiences connected to the Iranian Revolution in the 1970s, giving a valuable perspective and context for the novel study. See photos below.

Senior Portraits- Sittings Still Available

Seniors! If you haven't taken your senior portrait yet, Legacy Studios will be here Friday, November 1. Please click here to schedule.

Wednesday, November 13 (auditorium lobby) will be the last chance to have your senior's portrait taken on campus. These sittings do not need an appointment, but are tux/drape only.

Buy Your Teachers and Staff Lunch! To show our appreciation for all that they do, the PTSO will collect donations from students, parents and other school supporters for a Teacher and Staff Luncheon to be held on Wednesday, November 20. With the lunches, teachers and staff will each receive a thank you card with the names of the students or other school supporters who donated on their behalf. Any additional funds raised will go to holiday gift cards that will be distributed in December. Deadline to donate is Friday, November 15.
