Convos with Comeau
In the latest edition of Panther Press, I discussed our Special Education and 504 services. This week, I am pleased to introduce several new staff members who will be contributing to our programs.
First, I would like to highlight Andrew Denardo, who will be working with students receiving speech services. His expertise will be invaluable in supporting our students' communication needs.
Additionally, we welcome Zack Carelton, who will provide physical therapy services to some of our students. His role will be crucial in enhancing our students’ physical well-being and mobility.
We also have a new custodian, Adam Chaplin, who you may have seen around the building. Adam is here each morning when the students arrive and remains throughout the day. His dedication to maintaining a clean school environment, all while wearing a cheerful smile, is greatly appreciated.
Lastly, we are excited to welcome Martha Stone, our new part-time school counselor. She is stepping in to support our students and will help address their social-emotional needs, ensuring continuity in care as we transition from Mrs. Gervais's position.
Please join me in welcoming these new team members to our school community!
The A.P. Briefing
This is our 2nd year of implementing the B.A.R.R. program here at PCS! You may have heard your children discussing U-times, and if you haven't please consider asking them about them. We hold U-time together as a school every Thursday morning. This week we learned about being on the lookout for kindness happening all around us, and causing ripples of kindness in our school community and beyond! Below I have included the BARR family/caregiver handout for you to read through to familiarize yourself with the program and how it is making a positive difference here at PCS!
Kindergarten is on the lookout for KINDNESS!
Thank you Poland Fire Rescue Department!
Thank you to Chief Tom Printup, Sparky and his crew for spending the day with us on Thursday, October 10th. We took advantage of our outdoor classroom and students got to learn all about fire safety and what it takes to be a firefighter!

G.E.O. Day - October 16th
On Wednesday, all of PCS used our outdoor classroom spaces to LEARN! Thank you to the G.E.O. (Get Everyone Outside) Committee for organizing this day!

An Artificial Christmas Tree
We are looking for a gently used 5 ft. Christmas Tree. As many of you know, we sponsor 15-20 families each year during the holiday season. Our current tree is over 20 years old and has seen better days. We would love to replace it with a gently used 5 ft. tree that can bring joy and happiness to our holiday celebrations.
If you can help, please contact Brandi Comeau or Danielle Higginbotham.

Goodies and Grooves with the Grands!
We are excited to announce our yearly celebration with our Grandparents and Neighbors who don't otherwise get to visit PCS. We know that parents always love to visit, but Student Led Conferences are coming for you, and we really would like to take this opportunity to open our doors to extended family and neighbors that don't otherwise get to visit! Please encourage your student to invite someone outside of the household to join us on this day!
