WINTER BREAK SCHEDULE
Next week, December 16 - 20, is a regular school week. Students will begin Winter Break December 23 through January 5 and classes will resume on January 6, 2025. Enjoy your break!!
NEW PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES POLICY
STARTING JANUARY 6, 2025
At CCA, our priority is to create an environment that fosters focus, learning, and well-being for all students. While we recognize that cell phones are a part of our everyday lives, they are not a necessary requirement to meet curricular outcomes. In fact, cell phones are often a distraction to our students’ ability to engage in their learning. To maintain an optimal learning environment for all students and to ensure safety and limit distractions, we request your support as we curtail the student use of cell phones and other personal devices district-wide. With that in mind, we are introducing a new Personal Electronic Device Policy, which will take effect after winter break on January 6, 2025. The policy prohibits device use in elementary and middle schools and limits use in high schools to specific times and areas.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
Elementary and Middle School:
If students choose to bring a cell phone/device to school, the device(s) will be powered off and remain in student backpacks/lockers/cubbies during the full school day, including lunch/recess. Cell phone/device(s) will not be allowed on field trips. Smart watches may be worn for telling time only and must be in airplane or similar compatibility mode.
High School:
If students choose to bring a cell phone/device to school, the device(s) will remain in a classroom collection container during class periods. Smart watches may be worn during class for telling time only and must be in airplane or similar compatibility mode. The device will remain in the classroom if the student leaves the classroom briefly (to use restroom, library, etc.). Students will be permitted to use cell phones during lunch, passing periods and as approved by building admin for education purposes. Students with an open block are permitted to use their cell phones during that time within the designated area.
We know that changes like these work best when everyone is informed and engaged. That’s why we’ve created resources to help:
Visit Our Webpage: https://ccaschoolsorg.finalsite.com/students-and-families/cell-phone-personal-electronics for the full policy and parent resources.
We’re confident this policy will enhance our students’ school experience and we appreciate your support in helping them adjust. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s building principal.
Thank you for your partnership as we work to ensure every student thrives at Clear Creek Amana Community School District.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR EAST RIDGE ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
Several East Ridge Elementary students recently participated in the Noetic Math Contest. Twelve 4th-grade and fourteen 5th-grade students earned National Honorable Mentions for their outstanding performance.
A special congratulations goes to 4th-grade student Thomas Jurs, who qualified for the National Honor Roll — a significant achievement that places him in the top 10% of the 7,000 4th graders who took the test!
We also extend our gratitude to Mr. Dees, our ELP teacher, for his dedication to supporting these students and coordinating their participation in the contest.
Congratulations to Thomas and all of our East Ridge participants!

COMING SOON - NEW STOPFINDER BUS ROUTE APP
What is Stopfinder and When will this start?
Stopfinder allows subscribers to receive push notifications from CCA Transportation staff with any changes to bus schedules and routes. Subscribers can also create GeoAlerts, create alert zones at pick up and drop off locations or anywhere on the map, to receive GeoAlert notifications when the bus arrives at or departs from the alert zone.
North Bend Elementary families with students assigned to bus routes will receive an email invitation to subscribe to Stopfinder on Friday, December 13. North Bend will pilot the new app starting December 16. Email invitations will be extended to families with students on assigned bus routes at our remaining attendance centers starting the second week of January, 2025. The email will be sent to your designated primary email address in PowerSchool.
Additionally, families have access to their student’s bus route information under "Other Information" in PowerSchool.
The Stopfinder app will provide student route numbers, pick-up times and locations, and drop-off times and locations, and real-time bus location tracking. Families can also directly share route information with caregivers through the app.
BILL WALLS HONORED WITH THE "BILL WALLS OF FAME" BOARDS
The Clear Creek Amana (CCA) Wrestling Program honored alumni, Bill Walls, at a dual meet last week. Bill’s commitment to CCA and the sport of wrestling has left an indelible mark on the program’s history and culture.
Bill and his son Tyler Walls hold the unique distinction of being the only father and son duo to qualify for the state tournament in CCA history.
Coach Walls was not only honored for his time and effort but for preserving over 30 years of CCA Wrestling history. His meticulous record-keeping has become a cornerstone of our program, creating a sense of pride and tradition for every athlete who steps onto the mat. To commemorate his contributions, the program unveiled the “Bill Walls of Fame” boards, which will be displayed in the CCA Wrestling Room. These boards will serve as a daily reminder of the legacy he helped build and the tradition he upheld.
