A Note From the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Please make sure to send in your RSVP slips for One School One Book Family Literacy Night by TOMORROW, Friday the 7th! We cannot accept walk-ins at the door. We look forward to seeing you there!

Tomorrow (Friday 3/7) also marks the end of the third quarter of this school year. Report cards will be sent home next week. Encourage your students to keep working hard and giving their best effort through the end of the year! Thank you for your support and partnership!

Munson and Park are implementing a Synthesis math pilot program with third grade students. This program uses AI to differentiate instruction and personalize learning. We are excited for the opportunity to utilize the current technologies to stretch our students' learning experiences!

OSOB Family Literacy Night - March 19, 6-7:30pm

We hope you'll join us for Family Literacy Night on Wednesday, March 19 from 6-7:30pm! It is the final event of One School One Book, and a great time for the whole family! We will have games, prizes, crafts, and other literacy-based activities all about Fenway & Hattie. We will also be collecting donations for Rescue Village (a list of suggested items came home in your OSOB packets).

THE RSVP DEADLINE IS TOMORROW!!!!!!

Registration is REQUIRED for Family Literacy Night - we CANNOT accept walk-ins the night of the event. Make sure to send in your RSVP form by TOMORROW - Friday, March 7!

OSOB - Rescue Village Donations List

We will be collecting donations for Rescue Village at Family Literacy Night on March 19! Please consider making a contribution to this local animal shelter. We will have a representative from Rescue Village at the event, and we would love for their animals to receive lots of goodies from Munson! Please see the list below for their donation wishlist. Thank you!

Clinic Corner

Hello, Munson families!

Daylight Savings begins this Sunday, March 9! Here are a few suggestions to help your children (and you!) adjust!

Gradually shift your child's bedtime earlier by 5 or 10 minutes a day leading up to the time change, so it's not such a shock to the system (you can also wake them up a little bit earlier each day to help ease that transition).
Encourage your child to stay active during the day to burn energy, and spend time outside whenever possible! Being exposed to natural light during the day can help set your child's circadian rhythm.
Help your child's internal clock adjust by dimming the lights and turning off all electronics at least 30-60 minutes before bedtime. Using electronic devices right before bed can reduce sleep time, sleep quality, and daytime alertness. (This is a great tip for adults, too!)
Have a solid bedtime routine, and stick to it! When kids know what to expect at bedtime, it helps create a signal in their bodies that it's time to sleep. Taking a warm bath, reading a book, and listening to relaxing music before bedtime are all good ideas!

Topper Tickets are given to students as a special recognition when they demonstrate a Topper Trait - Taking Responsibility, Offering Kindness, and Persevering. Each day, we randomly pull a few Topper Tickets from each grade level to receive a prize!

2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration is OPEN!

Chardon Schools is excited to welcome your Hilltopper to school in the fall! Convenient, online registration for your kindergarten student is now available. Are you looking for ways to grow together as a family? Join us at Chardon Middle School for a multi-part series of activities to foster connection and build confidence within your family. Just Run! Register Today!

Just Run is a nonprofit youth program whose mission is to improve health and well-being of children. Munson's Just Run program will start April 1, with practices every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45-4:15 preparing us to participate in a 5K on Memorial Day weekend. Practices will include a warmup, running practice, and fun games! See more details below, and register your child soon! Parents' Night Out - March 8

Register your child(ren) today for The Floor is Lava Parents' Night Out at Chardon's Best Summer Camp & After School this Saturday, March 8 from 6-9pm! For $35, kids will enjoy games, martial arts, and more while parents can enjoy their evening (and kids' dinner is also available to purchase). ALL proceeds will be donated back to the Munson PTO! Save the Date! Bingo Night Fundraiser - April 4

Mark your calendars for Munson PTO's Bingo Night Fundraiser on Friday, April 4 from 6-8pm at the Munson Town Hall! This will be a fun night for the whole family! Along with Bingo games, we'll have tons of raffles, a silent auction, Chinese auction baskets, and pizza. We are working to raise money for new picnic tables for the school, and we need your support!
