Did you know that California residents ages 16 and 17 who want to be future voters can pre-register to vote? It’s easy to do! Visit: registertovote.ca.gov and click on the “Pre-Register to Vote” button to complete the online Voter Registration Application.

With a pre-registration complete, as soon as future voters turn 18, at the time of the election, they can cast a ballot to vote. California High School Voter Education Weeks are: September 16-27, 2024 and April 14-25, 2025 - making it a great time to take advantage of the Pre-Register to Vote opportunity offered by the state of California. CVUSD Parents/Guardians, please join our BreakThrough Student Assistance Program and The Conejo Schools Foundation for the September Workshop: Parenting Like a Pro - 10 Hacks to Support Mental Health (Theirs and Yours). This cost-free workshop will take place on Tuesday, September 24th from 6pm-7:30pm in the MPR of the District's University Center located at 2801 Atlas Avenue in Thousand Oaks. Jennifer Mundy, LMFT, who oversees the Wellness Centers in our CVUSD High Schools will lead this presentation.

The CVUSD's Communication Internship Program is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year. High school students who are currently enrolled in the 11th and 12th grade and have an interest in graphic design, video production, social media content creation, photography, website design and writing/journalism are encouraged to apply.

The goal of this volunteer internship program is to provide students with hands-on experience in the field of communication and to ultimately be a “communications ambassador” for the Conejo Valley Unified School District.

The annual CVUSD College Fair returns on Thursday, September 19th from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Thousand Oaks High School: 2323 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

All CVUSD high school students and their families are invited to attend this cost-free event.

This event typically features representative from more than 65 colleges/post-secondary destinations. Directly following the College Fair, in-person workshops on a variety of important topics will be held from 6:45pm -8:20pm.

Attendees are encouraged to register for the event by visiting www.strivefair.com or scanning the QR code on the flyer below. Once registered you will receive a barcode for the college fair. Show your barcode to colleges who will scan it to send you more information about their schools. It’s free and saves you time!

We are proud to provide all students with a Chromebook through the District’s 1:1 Program. While Chromebooks are provided at no cost to families, proper use and care of the Chromebook is the responsibility of the student and their parent/guardian. To support this program, CVUSD is offering Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) program for families to eliminate the concern and costs of repairing or replacing damaged, or stolen Chromebooks.

Last week, the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks visited Glenwood Elementary School with special back-to-school gift bags for the school's teachers and staff members. On top of this generosity, the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks is also gifting the Glenwood school library $1,000 worth of brand new books for scholars to enjoy.
