Early one morning, I went to my neighborhood grocery store. The checkout line was staffed by a cashier who was prompt, thorough & engaging. When it was my turn, I couldn’t help but thank her for being so wonderful. She graciously thanked me, & said “Well, I HAVE TO serve with excellence because He serves us with excellence everyday”. Wow. ⭐Her motivation to serve with excellence didn’t even matter who the customers were. She was going to be exceptional anyway. That means that our motivation must be intrinsic & ROOTED in something that is firm & does not change. 🙏🏽For the cashier, her source was a Spiritual one. Your source could be that you are grateful for [ ]. Or your source may be that you wish to model a life your children can shape their lives after. 👉🏽Takeaway: Anchor your kindness in something that is unchanging & rejuvenating. THAT is where consistency lives.

Broadway⭐Board appointment to Housing Authority⭐Communication Tower Agreement renewal w/T Mobile @ 69 Tower, Revenues received in Water Fund⭐Ambulance Rate Change consistent with rate trends⭐1st reading of 2018 Building Codes for Mechanical, Plumbing & Electric⭐Establish Water Franchise Fee (corrects two things - replaces revenue lost by ending practice of depositing utility penalties in the GF & compensates the GF for use of R/W consistent for all utility companies; the purpose of utility franchise fees is for maintainance of public rights/way for utility companies to have access to extend & maintain their utility lines within an organized network, for which water & sewer utilities have not compensated GF for; the state audit noted utility bill penalties should be received in the utility funds rather than GF)⭐Utility Rate Change (established multi-year investment & financial planning for capital intensive operations, supports 5% reduction in water revenue in 2022⭐increase in trash rate consistent with the trash hauler's annual contract adjustment)⭐Budget Approval for FY 2022, & Appropriations.

Anticipate overlay will occur this week on Jesse James⭐Resumes for Police Chief are due by 10/18⭐Community Center Phase II Steering committee meets monthly to guide design concepts for aquatic facilities to be built. As design concepts are complete, selections will be estimated to make adjustments to stay in budget⭐This years Household Hazardous Waste Event will be held in Richmond on 9/25 between 8AM-Noon⭐The City's website will provide links to alternatives for disposal of hazardous waste if you are unable to make this event.
